MAL Description:

In a world where vampires exist, Saki Fujimiya is a vampire hunter. While she attends school like a normal teenager, she targets a specific vampire in her free time. However, when Saki confronts the vampire, none of her attacks are effective, giving her enemy an opportunity to drink her blood. The vampire—using the name Miyoko Kujou—claims that she has no intent to kill Saki before declaring that she actually loves her. The encounter ends there, but Saki continues to face Miyoko at school.

Miyoko has made a habit of drinking Saki's blood, and while she may say otherwise, Saki quickly succumbs to pleasure. Despite the gratification she receives from this interaction, Saki always tries to kill Miyoko immediately afterward. Is this a sense of loyalty to her position as a vampire hunter, or is it something else entirely?

[00:00:00] Wretched Power Flop, Wretched Power Flop, Let's Go Shonen Flop, Let's Go Shonen Flop, Let's Go Shonen Flop

[00:00:30] and Shonen Jump that didn't make it big. I'm David. I'm Jordan. Next week, we'll be covering Marshall Master Assume if you'd like to read along with us.

[00:00:37] Be sure to join the discussion in our Discord and submit your six word summary.

[00:00:40] Finally, to the Discord in our episode description on our website Shonen Flop.com.

[00:00:43] But we are not here to talk about that today. This week, we are talking about killing me and we are joined by the wonderful Voidberger, aka Jess.

[00:00:51] Oh my God.

[00:00:53] Hiya.

[00:00:54] Yo, what's up?

[00:00:56] What's up? It is earlier than usual than I talk about bad anime, but that's okay.

[00:01:02] That's usually save that for more of a 1130 kind of situation, so we appreciate getting up a little early.

[00:01:07] Yeah.

[00:01:08] Rise and shine. Talk about the bad anime. But yeah, I'm Jess O'Brien. You might know me from SkullTenders, which is a new-ish.

[00:01:15] I don't know. It's getting on in age soon, maybe. D&D actual play podcast that is like super edited. Too much by me.

[00:01:21] And I also, I'm on Twitch. I'm on YouTube, all that stuff. I was on Giant Bomb for a spell. And that's me.

[00:01:26] They might also know you from your Nightmare Before Christmas Let's Play.

[00:01:30] I've done a bunch of random Let's Plays, yes. I know a little too much about Nightmare Before Christmas.

[00:01:35] Oh gosh.

[00:01:36] We've had a bunch of vintage Let's Players on We've Had What? Chipchizza, Ironicus, or Crantz.

[00:01:41] Sorry, I think he doesn't like using that name anymore. And then, ah, Jordan, there's one more. Who was it?

[00:01:46] Slowbeef? Yeah, never heard of that.

[00:01:48] There you go. That was gonna be like, slowbeef, right?

[00:01:51] I think you might have heard of Chipchism. I don't know.

[00:01:54] I might have married him, yes.

[00:01:56] Whoa, sorry. What? Yeah, damn, he's off the market.

[00:02:00] I know, sorry, sorry everybody. Got him. Grabbed him. Bagged him.

[00:02:04] I think this is the first married couple we've had on the podcast.

[00:02:08] Married people don't read manga. They got adult stuff to do, like, taxes.

[00:02:13] Oh god. Oh god, he made taxes. Shit.

[00:02:16] There's only one who did their taxes as soon as they're available, because that's how you get your...

[00:02:19] This means you get your money back sooner. You're the only one here who went to business school, David.

[00:02:24] Wait, wait, wait. You get money back from taxes?

[00:02:27] Oh yeah. What? What? Yeah.

[00:02:31] No, not to brag, but I got a check for $11 from the IRS this year.

[00:02:35] What? That's a fortune! That's 11 burgers off the dollar menu!

[00:02:39] Oh, that's not a thing anymore. McDonald's is way too expensive for my blood.

[00:02:43] Yeah. But Jess, we are so excited.

[00:02:46] And also Jordan, I think this is a very special episode.

[00:02:49] Because what is it? This is killing me.

[00:02:52] Jordan's episode 100. Oh my god! Yeah, what?

[00:02:55] Episode 100? I'm on episode 100. Yes!

[00:03:00] Do you want any soundboard noises for victory purposes? Okay.

[00:03:04] Sure. What you got?

[00:03:06] Woo! Yeah!

[00:03:08] Our editor loves inserting that shit too, so he's a son of a bitch.

[00:03:11] I had a lot of really stupid ones, though.

[00:03:14] And I hit the wrong ones all the time, so you're lucky it actually was the one I intended to use.

[00:03:19] What's your favorite one? I have to know.

[00:03:21] Let's see. Is it? I really wish I had one of those ones that had labels on it.

[00:03:26] It's just a mystery. Let's see if it's this...

[00:03:29] It's gonna start reading off Jess' social security number.

[00:03:32] Let's see if it's this one. If it's not, I'll tell the editor.

[00:03:36] I love it!

[00:03:38] That was it. Yes! Yeah!

[00:03:40] That was it! I did it! I love it. Hell yeah.

[00:03:43] It's like a fucking audio hyper fixation of mine is I love eggs.

[00:03:47] Oh, there's also squeepoo. I don't know if squeepoo is on here.

[00:03:51] I got them both right. Three fucking soundboard things right. This is a lucky day.

[00:03:56] You are a pro in your craft if I've ever seen it. I'm on fire.

[00:04:00] I gotta say I watched the stream that you and Josh did of Final Fantasy 7.

[00:04:06] By the way, listener Josh is Chip Cheesem.

[00:04:09] I was about to say who the fuck is Josh.

[00:04:11] Yeah, he joins just on first name basis with Chip Cheesem. He's that cool.

[00:04:15] I assume Jess actually is though. I hope so!

[00:04:18] I sometimes call him Chip. I sometimes call him Chip.

[00:04:21] My parents sometimes call him Chip. Oh my god.

[00:04:24] Oh my god. He's been Chip for so long. Yeah.

[00:04:26] I remember the greatest audio sting ever was when Severoth stabbed Aerith.

[00:04:33] Oh, spoilers for Final Fantasy 7 by the way.

[00:04:36] And then just the Crash Bandicoot sound played that exact moment.

[00:04:42] Someone in my chat had like was from the future and knew exactly who hit play on that soundbite

[00:04:49] so that it synced up and it was like literally a pixel perfect.

[00:04:53] The instant the sword went through her body, it happened.

[00:04:56] I feel like Chip was really mad about that.

[00:04:58] He was so mad.

[00:04:59] Because then immediately after they played, I have a really long soundbite.

[00:05:06] You can play that. It's the song from Total Distortion when you die.

[00:05:09] It's just this big you are dead song and it's like three minutes long.

[00:05:13] Just like oh fuck.

[00:05:15] I think let's move on though. One last comment is have you two seen the

[00:05:18] Windmill Kids video where it was like this British, this like clip from a British

[00:05:22] television show for kids that went viral for some reason? No.

[00:05:25] Can you describe it?

[00:05:27] And it's like this really cheesy and there's a part where they're like all dancing

[00:05:31] at super campy and they all go woo.

[00:05:33] And I was showing it to Rachel and I'd seen it so many times.

[00:05:35] I said woo exactly when they did and she just turns and looks at me

[00:05:38] and she's like why did you know exactly when they were going to say that in this video?

[00:05:41] Because I've seen it a bunch.

[00:05:42] Yeah. She was just like you've memorized the timing of this really stupid video.

[00:05:46] That's not hard to do.

[00:05:48] It's actually because David was one of the kids in that clip.

[00:05:51] Yeah, I was actually yes. I was born in 1965. You got that.

[00:05:55] It's not it's not hard to do.

[00:05:57] I don't know. I memorize things that sound like stuff all the time.

[00:06:00] Can I memorize all of Nightmare Before Christmas?

[00:06:02] For example, that's why I know too much about Nightmare Before Christmas.

[00:06:04] I just know it off the top of my head all the fucking way through and still do.

[00:06:10] Oh man, but unfortunately as much as I'd love to talk about the Nightmare Before Christmas,

[00:06:14] we do have to talk about this manga. So why don't we migrate into that?

[00:06:17] All right, so let's get into the manga details.

[00:06:19] This is Killing Me. It was written by Enma Akayama.

[00:06:23] Notable people they had as assistants was Hikari Komaru who was actually an adult comic artist.

[00:06:29] That's not surprising.

[00:06:31] Yeah, I was going to say why doesn't that shock me?

[00:06:33] That's fine.

[00:06:34] Yeah, but live your best life.

[00:06:37] But Emma's other works include Killer in Love from 2020-2022.

[00:06:42] Five volumes in manga one that has won all capitals.

[00:06:46] A chance connection made between college students escalates into murder, violence and intimidation.

[00:06:53] How far will a man sink for love?

[00:06:58] Thank you, Maxi B.

[00:06:59] Another work of his is Noah is my senior and my friend.

[00:07:04] Starting in 2023 still going.

[00:07:07] Two plus volumes in Weekly Young Jump.

[00:07:10] This is about an exceptionally normal guy.

[00:07:13] Rihito, now let me tell you isn't normal just a setting on the washing machine.

[00:07:18] Forms a close friendship with a senior at his game company.

[00:07:22] Oh, the Buxom Human Trainwreck Noah who maintains a cool appearance at work

[00:07:30] but is in reality a huge dweeb prone to embarrassment and tears.

[00:07:34] I know what that's like.

[00:07:35] A very cute and funny series personally recommended to all listeners by Maxi B.

[00:07:42] Our comic historian Jess.

[00:07:45] It sounds like Akiyama got better at this?

[00:07:48] Perhaps.

[00:07:50] This has happened a few times where we've read offers that created like not great series

[00:07:54] and then knock it out of the park.

[00:07:55] Like a big one is Amalgam distortion was not very good

[00:07:58] and this current series Dragon and Chameleon is like legitimately one of my favorite things I'm reading right now

[00:08:02] where I'm like the artist way better the plot is way better.

[00:08:04] I'm just like how did the same person make both of these?

[00:08:07] Yeah, or you know it's simple to love his war.

[00:08:10] This big one.

[00:08:12] Probably a much better example.

[00:08:14] But yeah, Killing Me ran in Comic Cune.

[00:08:17] It is a Saiyan manga mostly known for 4-Koma.

[00:08:22] I don't know what that means.

[00:08:24] Those are those four panel gag comics.

[00:08:26] That makes sense.

[00:08:27] Like Pop Team Epic, yeah.

[00:08:29] So the name is for 4-Koma and a good bit of Yuri.

[00:08:32] What?

[00:08:33] This ran from September 27, 2017 to May 26, 2018.

[00:08:38] The series it replaced was Choco Basket by Asu Komashiro

[00:08:43] and the series that replaced it was Shouan to Hibi by Asa Kawayoshi

[00:08:48] which was not a planned replacement just a coincidence of timing, okay?

[00:08:52] Series that started at the same time as it, well one month before as Maxi B says

[00:08:58] was Bento Yabayo Minase-san by Dark.

[00:09:03] Just named Dark.

[00:09:04] Dark.

[00:09:05] Edgy.

[00:09:06] If he teamed up with one they would have a very ominous team name.

[00:09:10] The Dark One.

[00:09:11] Yeah.

[00:09:12] Oh my God.

[00:09:13] Then make a 4-Koma gag comic.

[00:09:15] I would absolutely read a 4-Koma gag comic by one.

[00:09:19] He'd probably call it four.

[00:09:20] Oh Jesus.

[00:09:22] Another series was Godchans by Yukihiro and It's Huff Being Niko by Alde Hyde.

[00:09:30] Mr. Hyde wrote that.

[00:09:32] But this series killing me read for 10 chapters only got one volume.

[00:09:37] Boo-boo.

[00:09:38] Oh yes, arguably 10 chapters, arguably one volume.

[00:09:42] Yeah.

[00:09:43] But let's get into the fucking Platte Summary for killing me because it's killing me.

[00:09:50] Such a long manga with such a plot.

[00:09:53] This manga, if I would describe it as one thing, certainly it has a plot.

[00:09:59] It was the one piece of our generation.

[00:10:01] Yes.

[00:10:02] Vampire, lesbian, one piece.

[00:10:05] Oh that'd be good.

[00:10:06] Uh, Saki is your average vampire hunter schoolgirl, of course, whose classmate Miyoko is in love with her.

[00:10:13] Just one problem though.

[00:10:14] Miyoko is a vampire!

[00:10:17] Oh no!

[00:10:19] Get out.

[00:10:20] What?!

[00:10:21] Saki and Miyoko regularly fight with Saki using her special vampire fighting weapon, a gun,

[00:10:28] to fail to hit her while Miyoko just drinks Saki's blood.

[00:10:33] Saki catches Miyoko trying to suck the blood from another girl and gets insanely jealous, tearing her away popcorn, David.

[00:10:42] Miyoko says some creepy shit about how she only likes young girls and Saki will eventually stop having tasty blood.

[00:10:48] Saki gets mad at her for being selfish, which like, yeah I guess that's one thing wrong with it.

[00:10:53] I guess!

[00:10:54] Yeah, Saki has convinced her inability to kill Miyoko is because she's being controlled by the vampire, I guess she doesn't know about hormones.

[00:11:01] Miyoko however says she doesn't have that power.

[00:11:04] She's apparently too young to have mind control abilities.

[00:11:07] Damn, I wonder what it is then?

[00:11:09] A vampire hunter named Chiharu, which knows Saki, shows up to kill Miyoko and is horrified and confused when Saki saves her popcorn jess.

[00:11:16] Oh, she then attacks them at school attempting to stab Miyoko but Saki steps in front of her and blocks the knife with her forearm.

[00:11:23] She tells Chiharu that Miyoko is her prey and only she gets to kill her.

[00:11:28] And Miyoko kisses Saki and tells her that she hopes she keeps trying to kill her for a long time.

[00:11:33] And then in some extra stories, Saki bites Miyoko's neck which makes her blush and fly away.

[00:11:38] And Miyoko also discovers after looking through some pictures that she actually met Saki years ago when Saki was like a toddler and helped her find her parents.

[00:11:48] And it's like, wow, the red string of fate and it's just like, ew.

[00:11:52] I guess it would be creepier if she did remember that was Saki.

[00:11:57] Yeah.

[00:11:58] But it's still weird as fuck.

[00:12:00] It's treated like, oh, it's cute. How cute is that?

[00:12:03] Their fates are intertwined.

[00:12:05] I've been watching you this whole time.

[00:12:07] We run into this problem with every vampire media that takes place in high school.

[00:12:11] It's the question of like, why are you still in high school, dude? Aren't you 400 years old?

[00:12:14] Yeah.

[00:12:15] Don't you hate this? Why are you hanging out with kids all the time?

[00:12:17] Let's get into talking about the characters.

[00:12:19] So Jess, do you mind telling us about the main character Saki?

[00:12:21] So we got Saki who is the taller one.

[00:12:25] Seems to have darker hair also and longer hair.

[00:12:27] She's got a gun, got knives too I think.

[00:12:30] She is like a perfect student but I think the other one is actually smarter.

[00:12:34] She's the vampire hunter and wants to kill Miyoko.

[00:12:37] Or does she?

[00:12:38] Or does she?

[00:12:39] Or does she?

[00:12:40] She's a sundae.

[00:12:41] Textbook.

[00:12:42] Everyone is Sundae in this series.

[00:12:44] I don't think Miyoko is a sundae.

[00:12:46] I think Miyoko is very much aware and open about her feelings to Saki.

[00:12:51] There's another word for the one that's like really bubbly and obsessive.

[00:12:54] Is it like seme or something?

[00:12:57] Yandere?

[00:12:58] No, yandere is when they're crazy.

[00:13:00] Yes, she's crazy.

[00:13:01] She's pretty crazy, David.

[00:13:03] Oh yeah, that's fair.

[00:13:04] Yeah, seme is a, I think that's a yawii term.

[00:13:07] Yeah, I think seme and uke is a yawii stuff for top and bottom anyway.

[00:13:11] Yeah, anyway.

[00:13:12] Today I learned.

[00:13:14] Yes.

[00:13:15] Oh man, imagine if these guys had massive hands.

[00:13:19] Just imagine it.

[00:13:20] Just imagine.

[00:13:21] Wow.

[00:13:22] I love how there's a moment where she like fires a gun in the nurse's office at school

[00:13:29] and the nurse is just like shh.

[00:13:31] It's they got a different culture over there with guns than we do.

[00:13:35] I think guns in school.

[00:13:36] Guns in school, yeah.

[00:13:38] They're super fictional in Japan and over here it's just like ha ha oh.

[00:13:41] Could you imagine?

[00:13:43] Oh my goodness.

[00:13:44] It's crazy.

[00:13:45] Let fantasy anyway as David has mentioned she is very confused by the concept of hormones.

[00:13:52] Yeah.

[00:13:53] And believes that the fact that she is into Miyoko is clearly due to mind control.

[00:13:59] Mm-hmm.

[00:14:00] Vampires do a lot of to be fair.

[00:14:02] Yes.

[00:14:03] Often times.

[00:14:04] Yeah, that's not an unfounded conclusion.

[00:14:06] Not completely.

[00:14:07] Yeah.

[00:14:08] All right.

[00:14:09] And then Jordan, do you want to actually tell us a bit more about the vampire?

[00:14:12] All right.

[00:14:13] So this is Miyoko Kujo extremely aggressive very much is constantly going after sake and

[00:14:22] like kind of too much and just being like, oh, I love you.

[00:14:26] I love you.

[00:14:27] I love you.

[00:14:28] And it's kind of like, do you?

[00:14:29] Because she's just not bombing the shit out of her.

[00:14:32] Nothing is healthy about this relationship.

[00:14:34] Nothing is healthy about this.

[00:14:35] She's teasing her at best.

[00:14:38] She says that she's a young vampire, which makes it seem like oh, she's only 100 years

[00:14:44] old versus 400 years old.

[00:14:47] FreeRyn meets an elf that's much older than her and says that you are young

[00:14:51] but FreeRyn is still 1000 years old.

[00:14:53] So it's all relative.

[00:14:54] Yeah.

[00:14:55] And she says that she loves you very much.

[00:14:57] I must drink your blood.

[00:14:58] Oh man.

[00:14:59] You give you the tastiest blood until you get past your crime, until you hit the

[00:15:04] wall or whatever.

[00:15:05] That's gross.

[00:15:07] Miyoko, you're gross.

[00:15:10] Who's the real predator amongst these two makes you wonder?

[00:15:14] It's never fully confirmed whether Miyoko actually loves sake or views her as just

[00:15:21] her blood.

[00:15:22] Because at one point I don't view you as food sake, whereas I don't know.

[00:15:26] Her actions seem different.

[00:15:28] I don't know how reliable she is.

[00:15:31] Well, I mean because she's like a yandare, it's hard to tell because they do

[00:15:36] just sometimes be acting like this where it's like somebody who has like an

[00:15:40] obsessive crush is like actually just harassing the person a lot.

[00:15:44] And then they tie you up in your basement.

[00:15:46] Yeah.

[00:15:47] Because I love you so much.

[00:15:48] Yeah, exactly.

[00:15:49] Yeah.

[00:15:50] You suck your blood, ignore your denial of consent for that stuff, whatever.

[00:15:55] That is just yandare bullshit, man.

[00:15:58] I don't know what to do.

[00:15:59] Such yandare bullshit.

[00:16:00] And you know who's got a lot of bullshes that last character?

[00:16:02] Well hold on because I want to say the fucking rules for this with these

[00:16:08] vampires and the sunlight.

[00:16:10] Well she wore sunscreen.

[00:16:11] She wears sunscreen, whatever.

[00:16:13] And has a parasol.

[00:16:14] She's good.

[00:16:15] Yeah.

[00:16:16] I mean it does make sense that it's like she's young and she's 400 if

[00:16:20] being a vampire is that easy.

[00:16:22] You don't really have to worry about the sun and stuff like that.

[00:16:24] Yeah.

[00:16:25] Maybe it goes by what we do in the shadows where you lose your resistance

[00:16:28] to the sun as you get older as a vampire.

[00:16:30] Oh, I need to watch that whole show.

[00:16:32] It's really good.

[00:16:33] Me too.

[00:16:34] But yeah, did they actually explain why she was in school in the first

[00:16:36] place?

[00:16:37] Because what's she in school before Saki enrolled?

[00:16:39] Uh, Saki came to this school to kill me because there's a

[00:16:44] vampire at it or something.

[00:16:46] Yeah.

[00:16:47] So she was already in the school.

[00:16:49] Yeah.

[00:16:50] Saki's like the exchange student I think in this scenario.

[00:16:52] I just assume it's like Twilight roles where she moves every year or

[00:16:57] something.

[00:16:58] She moves to forks and yeah.

[00:17:00] That's fair.

[00:17:01] But it also means that she only goes after like 15 year olds.

[00:17:04] But that's if Bella was a vampire.

[00:17:06] Better book, honestly.

[00:17:08] The last character is Chaharu who she is a newbie so she's

[00:17:12] Kawai but she genuinely is actually trying to kill Miyako.

[00:17:15] Yeah.

[00:17:16] So we actually get some good strong positive vampire hunter

[00:17:19] representation in this.

[00:17:20] Finally, God that's not in media enough.

[00:17:24] It's a problem I feel.

[00:17:26] I feel she would wear that shirt where it's I'm not

[00:17:28] Tudarei.

[00:17:29] I actually hate you.

[00:17:30] Good shirt.

[00:17:32] I've never seen that shirt.

[00:17:34] I'll get it for your birthday.

[00:17:35] Yeah.

[00:17:36] There's a lot of implications here that Chiharu is also

[00:17:40] in love with Saki.

[00:17:41] Oh yeah, of course.

[00:17:42] Yeah.

[00:17:43] Because Chiharu is very like you know it's that kind of like Senpai,

[00:17:47] Kyodai.

[00:17:48] Do I respect you or do I love you?

[00:17:50] Yeah she's also unaware of the concept of hormones I think.

[00:17:53] That's just a fun teen trope to do.

[00:17:56] Yeah.

[00:17:57] I'm doing that in Skull Tenders Christ's sake.

[00:17:59] Whoa spoilers, spoilers.

[00:18:02] It's a fun angle to be like I don't know what I'm feeling right now.

[00:18:05] What is this?

[00:18:06] Whoa.

[00:18:07] Intrital conflict.

[00:18:08] Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.

[00:18:10] Oh man, showing into what it failed.

[00:18:12] I was trying to figure out a way that doesn't sound like I'm passive aggressive

[00:18:14] in Skull Tenders.

[00:18:15] Be like on the topic of fakes that are not well written.

[00:18:18] No no.

[00:18:19] In bizarro.

[00:18:20] In bizarro world.

[00:18:22] It's opposite day.

[00:18:24] Yeah where we have existing sandwich instead of void burger.

[00:18:30] I don't know what the opposite of a burger is.

[00:18:32] Fucking hot dog.

[00:18:33] Yeah existing hot dog be like I have a badly written D&D character.

[00:18:38] Alright let's get into why it failed.

[00:18:40] Point burger please kick things off.

[00:18:42] Why it failed, I don't know it's just boring.

[00:18:44] Yeah.

[00:18:45] Not a lot happens.

[00:18:46] I also feel like it doesn't have, I don't know, like when you start reading a manga

[00:18:51] it's good to have like a hold open thing where it's just like whoa what's going on here

[00:18:56] I need to read more to find out and just feels like you just know the premise immediately.

[00:19:00] It's just like oh okay there's not like any intrigue to this.

[00:19:04] No.

[00:19:05] You know to grab me and it's like yeah it's like a fluffy, urie thing.

[00:19:07] I probably shouldn't expect that shit but my comparison point for fluffy urie bullshit is card

[00:19:12] captor Sakura so I'm spoiled right?

[00:19:14] Oh.

[00:19:15] I'm just like oh well maybe some more characters show up, maybe they have conflicting motivations

[00:19:19] or anything it's just like no no not a ton happens.

[00:19:24] This series reads like a fanfic of another series.

[00:19:28] It does actually yeah you know what it reminded me of this thought occurred to me in the

[00:19:33] middle of the night last night.

[00:19:35] Yeah, Eureka.

[00:19:36] Oh, Eureka.

[00:19:38] Eureka.

[00:19:39] Oh interesting.

[00:19:40] That's a good name for series about lesbian scientists.

[00:19:43] That's a podcast name.

[00:19:46] But I was thinking like what does this remind me of and I struck me like lightning it

[00:19:50] reminds me of being a kid and into Invader Zim but I couldn't watch Invader Zim so

[00:19:55] I read fanfic of Invader Zim and there was so much fanfic of Dib and Zim having

[00:20:02] this relation the same fucking Sundare slash Yandare relationship and I was just like

[00:20:07] oh my god everyone was doing that.

[00:20:09] That's what was happening there.

[00:20:11] I didn't like that.

[00:20:12] I was just like okay that's really out of character.

[00:20:14] I don't think Zim would.

[00:20:15] Just as like I didn't like that.

[00:20:18] It sure did come up a lot though.

[00:20:20] Oh my god.

[00:20:21] Yeah, I feel like the easiest way to say the issue with the series is and this

[00:20:24] is going to sound really pretentious but this doesn't have any like jinnis at

[00:20:27] Kwa.

[00:20:28] There's just an emptiness where there's just not it's like when you eat something and

[00:20:31] it just doesn't have like any fat in it and it tastes kind of off or it's like when

[00:20:34] you eat like one of those diet foods and it's like you can tell what they had to

[00:20:37] strip out to make it a diet food so it just doesn't feel like you're getting

[00:20:40] full by eating it.

[00:20:41] Yeah, there's no intrigue.

[00:20:43] There is no like plot and there isn't even like that many like sexy moments

[00:20:48] either so it's just like why am I here?

[00:20:50] What is this?

[00:20:51] Who's this for?

[00:20:52] I can read this in public.

[00:20:53] What am I doing?

[00:20:54] Yeah, I can read this in public.

[00:20:55] Who's this for?

[00:20:57] Well, you know, we mentioned plot a little bit and to that I say what plot?

[00:21:04] There's nothing here.

[00:21:05] Yeah, it's cotton candy the manga basically.

[00:21:09] I feel like the author towards the end was like, oh fuck, fuck, I never introduced

[00:21:13] a plot.

[00:21:14] Yeah, that's what it felt like.

[00:21:16] Vampire Hunter not save him.

[00:21:18] Please don't cancel my manga.

[00:21:20] Oh, too late.

[00:21:21] Too late.

[00:21:22] Well, apparently the series did not get canceled but we're going to learn

[00:21:24] more about that as we read Maxi V's notes.

[00:21:26] Oh, also they don't really have any vampire rules.

[00:21:29] A big thing is Miohoku comes into Saki's house, which is like one of the most

[00:21:33] famous things about vampires is you cannot just break into someone's house.

[00:21:37] So I was like, did you actually give a shit?

[00:21:39] I get dropping things like the OCD but that's like the thing that I would

[00:21:42] say is in the top three things people know about vampires.

[00:21:45] That's up there.

[00:21:46] I didn't even pick up on that.

[00:21:47] It's true.

[00:21:48] It's like sunlight sucking blood and can't come into your house.

[00:21:51] Yeah.

[00:21:52] And this girl's going to regular ass school.

[00:21:54] It's also how does a vampire hunter not have like a fireproof house on top of

[00:21:58] that policy too?

[00:21:59] Yeah, why isn't there garlic in every single threshold of her house?

[00:22:03] It shows like the lack of shit this offer actually gave about this topic.

[00:22:06] Like in the first chapter she's like, huh, she can't get to me now.

[00:22:11] I'm wearing garlic and have a cross around my chest.

[00:22:13] All right, it's time to eat.

[00:22:14] Let me take both of those things off while I eat.

[00:22:17] What do you do?

[00:22:18] Sloppy work.

[00:22:20] Sloppy as fuck.

[00:22:21] Imagine if it was 800 IQ when she was eating garlic in all our food.

[00:22:25] Oh, I see.

[00:22:26] Yeah, sloppy, I think is a good way of putting it.

[00:22:28] And it's just like the offer clearly just ran out of steam, which is a shame

[00:22:31] because we'll talk about it in like where could it go?

[00:22:33] But there is a lot of interesting space of making a cute Yuri vampire

[00:22:37] cotton candy manga.

[00:22:38] Yeah.

[00:22:39] And like I feel like by taking out a lot of the restrictions that come

[00:22:42] with vampires, you're like killing a lot of interest because having

[00:22:47] that kind of friction is important in like anything interesting.

[00:22:51] Oh, how are they going to overcome this one thing?

[00:22:53] There's nothing to overcome in this really.

[00:22:55] GbGest is where they would get a relationship and like she would have

[00:22:59] like a hell sing like parent.

[00:23:01] And the problem wasn't that they were lesbians.

[00:23:03] The problem was that one was a vampire and that was going to be the joke.

[00:23:06] Romeo and Juliet sort of style thing just seems so like obvious

[00:23:09] but they didn't even try to like there's a lot of low hanging fruit.

[00:23:12] The series didn't even try.

[00:23:13] It's really weird that they introduced her mom for a single panel

[00:23:16] and like it never got brought up again.

[00:23:18] Oh, but there was a whole different character.

[00:23:20] Can we go back to that?

[00:23:21] Who was that?

[00:23:22] Yeah.

[00:23:23] And that counts, Jordan.

[00:23:24] For the record that counts she has a Van Helsing parent.

[00:23:26] Okay.

[00:23:27] Yes.

[00:23:28] We score our guesses in our GbF episodes.

[00:23:30] We score our guesses.

[00:23:32] Yeah.

[00:23:33] I mean there was a brief.

[00:23:34] They were like, oh, there's StarCross lovers, you know,

[00:23:37] and this like their family is not going to like you,

[00:23:40] not going to like this or something.

[00:23:41] And then nothing happened.

[00:23:42] I don't know.

[00:23:43] Maybe that would have been more interesting if you focused on

[00:23:46] that, that instead of focusing on like nothing.

[00:23:49] Maybe it like would have went there if the manga kept going,

[00:23:52] but it's I have to see it a little bit of that ahead of time.

[00:23:55] I don't know why I'm thinking that this was supposed to go anywhere.

[00:23:57] I keep applying real story narrative rules to this.

[00:24:00] It's like how come they didn't foreshadow anything

[00:24:02] or have an interesting cold open?

[00:24:04] Maybe this was never supposed to be interesting and it was

[00:24:06] just supposed to be cute girls almost kissing.

[00:24:09] I feel like that is true.

[00:24:11] That was the main goal.

[00:24:13] And I feel like, yeah, I don't know.

[00:24:15] Things just kind of happen in this series.

[00:24:17] I feel like another kind of missed opportunity.

[00:24:20] Sure, you'd be fluffy all you want if you're not going to be

[00:24:23] interesting, you should be more funny.

[00:24:25] Like it's almost funny.

[00:24:26] It's like adjacent to funny.

[00:24:28] There's like little things where she's like, oh, they're

[00:24:29] going to be funny.

[00:24:30] And then they kind of just like this sort of felt more

[00:24:32] like a web comic than an actual comic.

[00:24:36] It's also like the pacing was weird where it was very

[00:24:38] fast paced with the pages because the pages took very little

[00:24:42] time to read, which the art was good.

[00:24:44] I mean, again, the positive point it was like a really just

[00:24:46] want to show off the art and so the office seemed to not

[00:24:48] want to actually put dialogue or really show things in the series.

[00:24:51] Yeah, I think like the backgrounds look nice too.

[00:24:53] Like the art is definitely very solid.

[00:24:55] Why don't we move into what it did well?

[00:24:58] But a but was coming.

[00:25:00] Oh, what's your butt?

[00:25:02] What's your butt, Jess?

[00:25:03] What's your butt?

[00:25:04] I do have a criticism with regards to the readability

[00:25:07] of certain panels when it comes to action shots.

[00:25:09] There's a couple of different moments where they have a little

[00:25:12] will they won't they tumble around and it's hard to figure out.

[00:25:15] Okay, what happened there?

[00:25:17] Like actually bodily how did that person move into this position?

[00:25:21] Like we're over here now.

[00:25:23] There was like a couple of instances, you know,

[00:25:25] compositionally where I was just really confused about the action.

[00:25:27] Yeah, I think that's a good call.

[00:25:29] This author is not an action mangaka.

[00:25:33] They have problems with that, I suppose.

[00:25:36] A lot of stuff is ill defined.

[00:25:38] Yeah, the fight scenes aren't great.

[00:25:40] I will say that the artists are pretty good.

[00:25:42] So why don't we get into what it did well?

[00:25:44] Jordan, go for it, my man.

[00:25:45] The art's really cute.

[00:25:46] I don't know just like you Jordan.

[00:25:48] Thank you, David. Just like you.

[00:25:50] It's not as thick as you though.

[00:25:52] I think in general, the art is actually pretty good.

[00:25:55] Yeah, I like the style.

[00:25:57] Yeah, everything seems to be pretty on model.

[00:25:59] You have a pretty strong sense of the figure with each of

[00:26:04] the drawings, I suppose.

[00:26:06] And the comic itself is cute and sweet.

[00:26:09] When she realized that she wasn't being hypnotized,

[00:26:12] she's just a lesbian.

[00:26:13] That was cute.

[00:26:14] It was.

[00:26:15] It was pretty obvious, but yes, it was cute though.

[00:26:18] I was like, oh no, she's not hypnotized.

[00:26:19] Absolutely not. She's just gay as hell.

[00:26:21] The kiss was cute. No, it was.

[00:26:23] This rides the line pretty nicely between being cute

[00:26:26] and being like, oh, OK, hominah.

[00:26:28] OK.

[00:26:29] OK, that's a little hot, but it's just OK.

[00:26:32] Wait a second. These are like 15 year olds.

[00:26:34] It's Manga.

[00:26:35] Welcome to Manga.

[00:26:36] We don't care.

[00:26:37] We've seen a lot worse.

[00:26:40] Yeah.

[00:26:41] This series at least wasn't offensive.

[00:26:43] No, it could be more or see a.

[00:26:45] Yeah. Well, there was the pedophile stuff, I guess.

[00:26:48] She is that kind of comes with the territory of vampires.

[00:26:52] And it also comes with the territory oftentimes of just

[00:26:55] being taking place in a Japanese high school.

[00:26:58] Like both those things combined, you know what's going to happen.

[00:27:01] You know what you're getting into here.

[00:27:03] It's going to have that in there, right?

[00:27:05] In some measure.

[00:27:06] By our powers combined, we form sex offender.

[00:27:10] We form something that Western audiences don't know

[00:27:13] how to talk about with any text.

[00:27:16] I'm just imagining the vampire sex offender

[00:27:18] just keeps getting arrested and thrown in jail,

[00:27:20] but since they're immortal,

[00:27:21] they just keep waiting out their sentences.

[00:27:22] Oh God.

[00:27:23] Well, I just turn into mist and leave.

[00:27:25] Yeah, pretty much.

[00:27:26] Can't jail a vampire.

[00:27:28] And then the cop chasing the vampire suddenly develops

[00:27:31] feelings for him.

[00:27:32] He just merges with his car.

[00:27:34] Yeah, it's a prequel to vampires.

[00:27:36] Oh God. Yeah.

[00:27:39] Oh man.

[00:27:40] Gary Oldman.

[00:27:41] I literally last night.

[00:27:43] Gary Oldman.

[00:27:44] I watched the Gary Oldman vampire movie.

[00:27:47] Just to prepare.

[00:27:48] Not that good actually.

[00:27:49] I don't recommend.

[00:27:50] Sounds like a flop.

[00:27:52] Yeah, honestly.

[00:27:53] It has a pretty high IMDB rating.

[00:27:55] I'm like, really?

[00:27:56] It's only a half a point less good than

[00:27:59] interview with the vampire.

[00:28:00] And I'm like, that is just straight up wrong.

[00:28:02] Get out of here.

[00:28:04] That one had accents that made sense.

[00:28:06] Come on.

[00:28:07] The only good thing about that movie is if you want to see Keanu Reeves,

[00:28:11] be handsome and do nothing else.

[00:28:13] I'd have the funniest worst accent.

[00:28:15] It's so funny.

[00:28:16] It made me feel a lot better about my own bad as hell British accent

[00:28:19] in my show.

[00:28:20] So that was good for me.

[00:28:23] It's always good to hear worse accents.

[00:28:26] I was listening to an audiobook reading of Dracula by Christopher Lee,

[00:28:31] which pretty cool, except he had to do a text and accent.

[00:28:35] Oh fuck yeah.

[00:28:36] Oh my God.

[00:28:38] Holy shit.

[00:28:40] British people doing like American accents.

[00:28:42] I'm like so intrigued by sometimes they're great at it.

[00:28:46] He was not.

[00:28:47] It's Christopher Lee British.

[00:28:48] Hang on a second.

[00:28:49] Yes.

[00:28:50] Yeah, Christopher Lee's British.

[00:28:51] Yeah.

[00:28:52] He is right?

[00:28:53] Okay.

[00:28:54] But yeah, so George, what were you saying though about something you enjoyed about the series?

[00:28:56] It's just cute.

[00:28:57] I think the love triangle started to be cute.

[00:29:00] I don't know.

[00:29:01] And then of course it went nowhere because the series ended.

[00:29:04] I like the little shopping date they have.

[00:29:07] I'm a sucker for that.

[00:29:08] Yeah.

[00:29:09] I'm a sucker for a shopping date.

[00:29:11] You know, it's as cute.

[00:29:12] You can see them in different outfits and blushing at each other

[00:29:15] and complimenting each other on the outfits and stuff.

[00:29:17] And it's like, oh, that's not okay.

[00:29:19] Yeah.

[00:29:20] And I also like Miyoko's bat form.

[00:29:22] It's cute.

[00:29:23] Yeah.

[00:29:24] It is very cool.

[00:29:25] Also, the series was pretty easy to read.

[00:29:27] It went by pretty quickly.

[00:29:29] It was paced decently.

[00:29:30] It was like a 30 minute read.

[00:29:32] Total breeze.

[00:29:33] Yeah.

[00:29:34] I just read it again this morning just zoomed by.

[00:29:36] Just because you could just the flex on us.

[00:29:38] Just cause I could.

[00:29:40] I didn't learn anything new.

[00:29:42] I was just damn, I really needed that cute vampire manga.

[00:29:46] Your fix.

[00:29:47] My fix of cute vampire cotton candy.

[00:29:51] My vampire can't be this cute.

[00:29:53] Oh, David.

[00:29:54] Don't don't.

[00:29:55] Well, all right.

[00:29:56] Why don't we on that?

[00:29:57] No, why don't we get into where it could have gone?

[00:29:59] Yeah.

[00:30:00] So Jess, what really stands out to you is some things

[00:30:02] you would have tweaked or extended the series to have made

[00:30:04] it more successful.

[00:30:05] I think that there's like a lot of things.

[00:30:07] And of course, this is a lot of me just wishing it was

[00:30:10] a different genre or something.

[00:30:12] Yeah.

[00:30:13] It is what it is.

[00:30:14] I don't think it was really like intending to have a

[00:30:16] intrigue or something.

[00:30:17] But I personally like a little intrigue in the stuff I read

[00:30:19] even if it's like slightly horny, but I don't know.

[00:30:22] Hey, nothing wrong with that sometimes.

[00:30:24] I don't know.

[00:30:25] Yeah.

[00:30:26] That's my fetish is intrigue.

[00:30:27] We could have not known she was a vampire for a goddamn

[00:30:30] minute or something like right out of the gates.

[00:30:32] That's what I was thinking too.

[00:30:34] Right out of the gates, you know exactly who they are

[00:30:36] and what they're about and like what they're doing.

[00:30:38] And it's just like nothing ever really goes in here

[00:30:40] with that.

[00:30:41] Of course, it's very short.

[00:30:42] So maybe it could have, of course, but I don't know.

[00:30:44] You could have did a little will they won't they with is she a

[00:30:47] vampire?

[00:30:48] Maybe you could have had a cast of like suspects.

[00:30:51] Who is the vampire and they're all like hair of me and

[00:30:54] flirty and stuff like that.

[00:30:56] And you're it's oh, who do you think is the vampire of this

[00:30:58] crew in this high school that she's supposed to be hunting

[00:31:01] a vampire in that could have been neat.

[00:31:02] I think that would have been really great.

[00:31:04] I'm just some sense of intrigue.

[00:31:05] I also just there's so many cute things that could have

[00:31:08] done with the series.

[00:31:09] Like I think a really low hanging fruit is they could have

[00:31:11] done the selfie together and the vampire girlfriend doesn't show

[00:31:14] up in the camera.

[00:31:15] Yeah.

[00:31:16] And I just feel like that's such like a fun idea.

[00:31:18] And that's like the energy the series had, but it just

[00:31:20] doesn't do things like that.

[00:31:22] And like having just watched Bram Stoker's Dracula, they did

[00:31:25] that absolutely goddamn constantly.

[00:31:27] They're constantly like he doesn't show up into reflections.

[00:31:29] Oh, his shadow does different stuff.

[00:31:31] And it was like borderline pretty funny when his shadow

[00:31:33] was doing different stuff.

[00:31:34] There's so much joke potential in this type of creature.

[00:31:38] They really didn't go for it.

[00:31:40] They did the holy water gun gag.

[00:31:43] Yeah.

[00:31:44] That's a way to kill a vampire with a water gun.

[00:31:46] Or is it?

[00:31:47] It seemed like it just stung a little bit.

[00:31:49] Yeah, nothing.

[00:31:50] The vampires didn't seem to actually have any weaknesses.

[00:31:52] Not really.

[00:31:53] The cross kind of made her faint for five seconds.

[00:31:56] And the garlic or whatever.

[00:31:58] The garlic just smelled bad.

[00:32:00] But it's like, you know, is this girl dangerous?

[00:32:03] There's even like after the shopping scene, it's like,

[00:32:06] yeah, she even worth killing.

[00:32:08] She doesn't.

[00:32:09] I mean, she's a terrible girl. She's not harming anybody.

[00:32:11] What's the point?

[00:32:12] Do I even need to kill this girl?

[00:32:13] And it's like, yeah, I'd like to ask that myself and not just

[00:32:16] have it like told to me, but maybe she could be a little

[00:32:18] dangerous.

[00:32:19] I don't know.

[00:32:20] She sucks this girl's blood a bunch of times and nothing bad

[00:32:22] happens to her.

[00:32:23] And she doesn't turn into a vampire or anything like that.

[00:32:25] Yeah.

[00:32:26] And she's also like, I get blood in a blood bank.

[00:32:28] So it removes like, so she's not harassing anyone else.

[00:32:31] Yeah.

[00:32:32] She has a friend that works at a blood bank to hook her up.

[00:32:34] No, no tension.

[00:32:35] No friction.

[00:32:36] Yeah.

[00:32:37] She says, oh, I would never kill you, Saki, because I love you.

[00:32:41] Maybe she kills other girls that she's not in love with.

[00:32:43] Yeah.

[00:32:44] I don't know.

[00:32:45] Have a reason where we're just, as he said, where we're

[00:32:48] just not like, yeah, don't kill her, Saki.

[00:32:50] Why?

[00:32:51] Yeah, there's like an implied menace just because

[00:32:54] she's a vampire, but it's like she's clearly not dangerous.

[00:32:57] So it's if she was a little dangerous, maybe that could

[00:33:00] have been even hotter guys.

[00:33:01] What if that like cleaned into the danger?

[00:33:04] I don't know.

[00:33:05] There's a presumption of danger that isn't actually present

[00:33:08] in the actual story.

[00:33:09] Would you do have liked it if Saki genuinely was trying

[00:33:12] to kill Miyoko the entire run of the series instead of giving up?

[00:33:15] She gave up pretty quick, didn't she?

[00:33:17] Yeah.

[00:33:18] It's a asterisk.

[00:33:19] It's like, oh, if anyone's going to kill her, it's me

[00:33:21] because she like saves her from the other vampire hunter

[00:33:23] and it's like, no, this is my prey.

[00:33:24] I'm going to kill her.

[00:33:25] So it's not like she changes her mind on it,

[00:33:27] but it's just like this is pretty weak.

[00:33:29] What if they didn't immediately say, oh no, I'm not

[00:33:32] controlling you.

[00:33:33] I can't do that.

[00:33:34] What if they kind of let it go for a little bit?

[00:33:36] There's this concept of you start a story at the most

[00:33:39] interesting part, like maybe when she's, as we've said,

[00:33:42] the intrigue trying to figure out who the vampire is,

[00:33:46] trying to figure out maybe like who's leaving these bodies.

[00:33:49] Maybe there's another vampire who's evil.

[00:33:52] If there is any friction in the story,

[00:33:54] if there is any conflicts, they are resolved

[00:33:56] like the next panel.

[00:33:58] We are not going to have any issues here.

[00:34:00] Our general criticism is maybe add a plot to the series.

[00:34:05] Yeah, as she may say, quaw.

[00:34:06] Maybe you have some kind of plot.

[00:34:08] Is that the genocide quaw, David, having a plot?

[00:34:11] Yes.

[00:34:12] They don't even have like midterms to stress out about.

[00:34:15] Like there's nothing in here.

[00:34:16] Well, they talk about Socky's like a 300 IQ student.

[00:34:19] So they're like, she'll never, so that's how they're like,

[00:34:21] well, school is never a concern for this series.

[00:34:23] Well, they have a joke where, yeah,

[00:34:25] Socky gets like 98s on everything,

[00:34:27] but Miyoko gets hundreds because she's taken it so long,

[00:34:30] which goes back to has she been held back like 20 years

[00:34:34] at this one school where she knows all the midterms?

[00:34:39] That's the exact same thing that people level against Twilight.

[00:34:42] And that's why vampires in high school is just a funny concept.

[00:34:46] Yeah.

[00:34:47] Who would want to be in high school forever?

[00:34:49] That's the world's worst place to be.

[00:34:51] Right.

[00:34:52] You could just go to college to wait easier and just do that.

[00:34:54] Yeah.

[00:34:55] Like Edward just like work at a fucking store or something.

[00:34:59] You don't have to go to school.

[00:35:01] Why?

[00:35:02] Especially with the money that Edward has anyway,

[00:35:04] this isn't about Twilight anyway.

[00:35:07] Gary Oldman was not going to high school.

[00:35:10] He was being young, but he wasn't being like high school young

[00:35:13] and fucking around there.

[00:35:15] Oh God, could you imagine Gary Oldman in high school?

[00:35:18] I also think by the way it would have been really funny

[00:35:21] if they had like other monster lesbian friends.

[00:35:24] Oh, I wish.

[00:35:25] So it would have been like imaginal werewolf in a cat girl.

[00:35:28] Isn't this just one of the Bratz toy lines you're describing?

[00:35:32] Oh, nice.

[00:35:33] Yeah.

[00:35:34] I think there's like Monster High or something like that

[00:35:36] and there is just like, you know, a Dracula girlfriend.

[00:35:39] He would have added something though.

[00:35:41] Or Monster Prom.

[00:35:42] Monster Prom.

[00:35:43] Oh, we've played Monster Prom.

[00:35:44] That's a great game.

[00:35:45] Yeah.

[00:35:46] Oh, I never get asked out.

[00:35:47] But I do have miscellaneous thoughts.

[00:35:49] So how about we get into that?

[00:35:50] Yeah.

[00:35:51] It's actually interesting that there is a bonus comic by Toma Usi

[00:35:55] who did Cheerful Amnesia, which is a much better cotton candy

[00:35:58] Yuri series that I have actually read.

[00:36:00] And I was like, wait a second.

[00:36:01] I recognize that art style.

[00:36:02] So it was just fun to see that I knew one of the creators

[00:36:05] of the bonus content that they added into the volumes

[00:36:08] for the series.

[00:36:09] Was that the, oh, I knew you as a child.

[00:36:12] And so because I knew you as a child,

[00:36:15] we must be together when you're also kind of still a child.

[00:36:19] Let me double check with one she made.

[00:36:21] I feel like vampire relationships are inherently,

[00:36:25] inherently have some kind of age gap.

[00:36:27] Yeah.

[00:36:28] I mean, vampire mortal relationships.

[00:36:30] Yes.

[00:36:31] That's true.

[00:36:32] Yeah.

[00:36:33] Then, you know, we get Anne Rice over, over here.

[00:36:35] Oh God.

[00:36:36] Making like a child into a vampire and then that child

[00:36:39] is all spending eternity being like this fucking sucks.

[00:36:42] Nobody wants to fuck me because I look like I'm seven.

[00:36:45] And it's like, yeah, why'd you do that?

[00:36:47] Why'd you write that?

[00:36:48] For the record, by the way, Jordan, so the bonus content is

[00:36:51] literally Miyoko just starts undressing Saki.

[00:36:53] And then it has the comment from the author saying,

[00:36:56] beautiful girls assaulting each other.

[00:36:58] I think it's great.

[00:36:59] Oh, I saw that.

[00:37:00] Yeah.

[00:37:01] Yeah.

[00:37:02] Yeah.

[00:37:03] Fantastic.

[00:37:04] Thank you, author.

[00:37:05] This was the most skin shown in the manga.

[00:37:07] Like actually them and their bras is the most you see.

[00:37:09] The author of Cheerful Amnesia is very horny.

[00:37:12] Let me be clear.

[00:37:13] You know, comes with the territory of making vampire

[00:37:17] Yuri, I suppose.

[00:37:19] It should at least.

[00:37:20] Yeah.

[00:37:21] Otherwise what the hell are we even doing here?

[00:37:23] You know?

[00:37:24] Yeah.

[00:37:25] And then did you guys have any other miscellaneous thoughts?

[00:37:26] Imagine you're just like drawing Yuri manga being like,

[00:37:29] God, I hate my job.

[00:37:31] Too many lesbians.

[00:37:33] I hate this subject matter.

[00:37:35] But you're just so good at it that it's like.

[00:37:38] You're cursed to draw Yuri for your entire career.

[00:37:41] Born to kill, cursed to draw you.

[00:37:45] 100 million dead lesbian.

[00:37:47] Undead lesbian.

[00:37:48] Oh yeah.

[00:37:49] True.

[00:37:50] All right.

[00:37:51] This is fucking.

[00:37:52] This is fucking.

[00:37:53] Jordan, we haven't even talked about the vampire series we tried writing like 15 years ago.

[00:37:56] Oh, but where we have the space Dracula's.

[00:37:59] Yeah.

[00:38:00] So it was called Cracker Fist and White Lightning versus the space Dracula's

[00:38:02] Voidberger and it was just two kung fu masters fighting Dracula's from space.

[00:38:07] One reason we didn't keep going with that.

[00:38:09] I don't know what I don't know.

[00:38:11] It was so as a black exploitation parody and their masters name was Blake'sploitation.

[00:38:15] Yeah, I could see why you stopped.

[00:38:17] Yeah, it was a good idea to stop wasn't it?

[00:38:19] Especially since Black you already exist.

[00:38:21] That's true.

[00:38:22] Going back to the same the same well that has been done before.

[00:38:25] Well there's a lot of vampire lesbian content.

[00:38:27] So you know there's only so much you could do a vampire Sunday or the sun.

[00:38:31] You can play that rim shots now.

[00:38:32] Now if you want.

[00:38:33] Hey, hey, hey, hey.

[00:38:34] I don't have a room shot.

[00:38:36] What do you not have a room shot sound on my thought that just comes by default in this.

[00:38:41] No, I mean this is a custom rig man.

[00:38:44] But no, I just have I love eggs and oh well then that's the closest we got play that one.

[00:38:49] This squee poo I forget.

[00:38:51] Hey leaving after my job after she learned about a cracker fist and white lightning.

[00:38:57] Bye.

[00:38:58] Bye.

[00:38:59] No, no, no.

[00:39:01] Yeah.

[00:39:02] Okay.

[00:39:03] All right.

[00:39:04] Does anyone have any other actual miscellaneous thoughts or should I read off what Maxi B's

[00:39:07] got tinkered in their brain?

[00:39:08] Yeah, go ahead.

[00:39:09] All right.

[00:39:10] So from the wonderful Maxi B the author is very online and you can actually find a link

[00:39:14] to their Twitter in our show notes which is found on the Patreon.

[00:39:18] So they just post constantly on Twitter a lot.

[00:39:20] They have a picture and yeah, Maxi B said that is the whole sentence just saying

[00:39:24] that you can see all of their shit online.

[00:39:26] The intention of this title is to be like you're killing me in English but the

[00:39:29] author interpreted that as being I love you to death.

[00:39:32] It's not the author's strong suit but I kind of get it.

[00:39:35] You're killing me.

[00:39:36] You're just killing me.

[00:39:38] Jerry, you're killing me with this Yuri.

[00:39:40] Called Jerry Galt.

[00:39:43] Chapter one which is not a part of volume one which had already come out is only

[00:39:46] six pages and immediately followed by cancellation notice.

[00:39:49] Apparently the cancellation is described as being at the author's convenience

[00:39:52] in a long since deleted tweet.

[00:39:54] The offer explains that it had become difficult to continue due to their

[00:39:57] circumstances and apologizes to readers.

[00:39:59] But yeah, the offer actually just kind of quit making this versus them being

[00:40:02] canceled.

[00:40:03] I don't understand how it was hard to make this series.

[00:40:06] Power to you though.

[00:40:07] I mean if you get too much on your plate, you got too much on your plate.

[00:40:09] Hey, there's a lot of series where I would rather them just call it quits.

[00:40:14] Like 99% of things we cover.

[00:40:16] Yeah, it's not like this was like going somewhere and people were

[00:40:19] really on the edge of their seats for some sort of conclusion.

[00:40:22] Where am I gonna find vampire lesbians now?

[00:40:25] We've read series where the author is just like fuck.

[00:40:28] I don't know where this is going.

[00:40:29] Bye everybody.

[00:40:30] I'm canceling this.

[00:40:31] One of which was very good.

[00:40:32] Tricks to educate the witches.

[00:40:34] Yeah, the author just straight up was like, I don't have any more ideas.

[00:40:38] I'm done here.

[00:40:39] Sorry.

[00:40:40] Appreciate the honesty.

[00:40:42] Yeah.

[00:40:43] And finally, vampireism, lesbianism actually have a long history

[00:40:46] from Carmilla to Dracula's daughter to hammer or hammer horror to

[00:40:50] lesbian vampire killers.

[00:40:51] And this manga is no exception to this.

[00:40:53] Vampires, the vexations of a shut in vampire princess kiss

[00:40:57] the scars of the girls.

[00:40:58] I won't let mistress suck my blood loads of stuff out of there.

[00:41:01] So I won't let mistress suck my blood.

[00:41:05] I super love that format of title.

[00:41:08] Yeah.

[00:41:09] And when it comes up, like is it wrong to pick up girls in a

[00:41:11] dungeon?

[00:41:12] Like I just love like the idea of having a super long descriptive

[00:41:15] sentence of a title for something.

[00:41:17] What is it about like my mom and her and her like to hit combo

[00:41:21] attacks combo attacks or something?

[00:41:23] Yeah.

[00:41:24] I took a horror movies class in college.

[00:41:28] Boy, that was a sought after seat.

[00:41:30] Oh, I'm living.

[00:41:31] I did vampire studies or sorry, zombie studies.

[00:41:34] But it was just like about like how horror movies tend to like

[00:41:38] reflect the environment of, you know, the social environment

[00:41:41] at the time and what people are scared of and all that stuff,

[00:41:43] basic stuff.

[00:41:44] But like vampires were, you know, they're pretty old, you

[00:41:48] know, this goes back and it's kind of just generally like a

[00:41:51] fear of like foreigners, but it kind of turned into more of a

[00:41:55] fear of queer people like as time went on and it's just the

[00:41:58] vampires got even sexier and even weirder and even like more

[00:42:03] super duper gay.

[00:42:04] Oh yeah.

[00:42:05] Then they were to begin with because like being gay was also

[00:42:08] like considered like a foreign idea, like all those queer

[00:42:12] strange foreigners with their peculiar ways and stuff like

[00:42:16] that.

[00:42:17] And here we are today in high school.

[00:42:19] I mean, hey, Bram Stoker, not a straight man.

[00:42:22] Just saying.

[00:42:23] Oh, I didn't know that.

[00:42:24] I didn't know that either.

[00:42:25] Yeah.

[00:42:26] Big if true.

[00:42:27] Yeah.

[00:42:28] I think he hung out with Edgar Allen Poe a little bit.

[00:42:29] He wasn't gay.

[00:42:30] No, I was just saying.

[00:42:31] Okay.

[00:42:32] I just like that they were friends.

[00:42:33] I think Bram Stoker was really into Walt Whitman.

[00:42:38] Like was it Walt Whitman?

[00:42:40] Or the guy who wrote The Little Mermaid like stalk

[00:42:42] someone.

[00:42:43] Yeah.

[00:42:44] The Little Mermaid is very much a story about how Hans

[00:42:47] Christian Andersen's about the man that Hans Christian

[00:42:50] Andersen was in love with was getting married.

[00:42:53] Yeah.

[00:42:54] That is very much.

[00:42:55] Yeah.

[00:42:56] Oh yeah.

[00:42:57] Did you know there's an RPG?

[00:42:58] Someone made a tabletop RPG where it's like he won't

[00:43:00] leave my house.

[00:43:01] It's like if he's in my front yard and I can't get

[00:43:04] him to leave and it's a role play.

[00:43:05] Is it a one page role playing game?

[00:43:07] Yeah.

[00:43:08] Okay.

[00:43:09] I don't know where else that could go.

[00:43:10] Yeah, no.

[00:43:11] Bram Stoker was in love with Walt Whitman to the

[00:43:14] point where it is speculated that he based Dracula on

[00:43:17] him because he viewed Walt Whitman as like the ideal

[00:43:21] perfect man or something.

[00:43:23] As we all do.

[00:43:24] Yeah, that's like me and Jordan.

[00:43:26] Yeah, exactly.

[00:43:27] Googling Walt Whitman.

[00:43:29] What did he look like?

[00:43:30] How hot was he?

[00:43:31] Not very.

[00:43:32] Wow.

[00:43:33] Yeah.

[00:43:34] Oh my God.

[00:43:36] He's basically a really ratty Santa Claus if I had

[00:43:39] to describe him.

[00:43:40] Yeah.

[00:43:41] Basically.

[00:43:42] Presumably he was young at some point.

[00:43:45] I'm also thinking about Jordan how friend of the show

[00:43:47] Shen of Shen Comics, how his latest comic that came

[00:43:49] out with someone reading his mind just says his two

[00:43:52] thoughts are lesbians and depression.

[00:43:54] That goes into vampire lesbians very easily is all

[00:43:57] I'm saying.

[00:43:58] Yes.

[00:43:59] So we told him he was very interested in the series

[00:44:01] that we're covering.

[00:44:02] All right.

[00:44:03] Does anyone have anything else or should we go on a

[00:44:05] final verdict?

[00:44:06] No, go ahead.

[00:44:07] All right, let's get started with some six word

[00:44:08] summaries from the community from Tucker,

[00:44:09] sucking the excrement from queer romance.

[00:44:11] Oh my God.

[00:44:12] Dammit.

[00:44:13] I caught myself.

[00:44:15] I caught myself.

[00:44:17] They don't do that.

[00:44:18] Whoa.

[00:44:19] It's a different manga.

[00:44:20] Oh God.

[00:44:21] Maxi B cancellation.

[00:44:22] More like lesbian read death.

[00:44:24] What?

[00:44:25] Red, red death.

[00:44:27] Oh, sorry.

[00:44:28] More like lesbian red death.

[00:44:29] Hey.

[00:44:30] Or paladin.

[00:44:31] Good luck writing the plot summary.

[00:44:33] Yeah, Jordan.

[00:44:34] Get fucked buddy.

[00:44:35] No, you did great job.

[00:44:36] There was not much to do with it.

[00:44:38] No, you did great job.

[00:44:39] There was not much to do.

[00:44:41] This was short plots.

[00:44:43] Chicken Warlord says it's all bite and no bark

[00:44:45] and only succeeded in killing my interest.

[00:44:48] Dude Rock says the offer is barely disguised,

[00:44:50] biting fetish,

[00:44:51] Glornaq a better love story than Twilight.

[00:44:53] Great Potter says vampire hunter unfortunately into

[00:44:56] being bitten.

[00:44:57] Maxi B has an arm and says about the same level

[00:44:59] as Twilight.

[00:45:00] Wow, a little bit of a conflict there.

[00:45:02] Yeah.

[00:45:03] Fight, fight, fight.

[00:45:05] Go.

[00:45:06] Portal Man says ask for consent before drinking blood

[00:45:09] and why Saki sucks at vampire hunting.

[00:45:11] Quack says vampire gui has never been this boring.

[00:45:14] Ooh.

[00:45:15] Redblade has actually worse love story than Twilight.

[00:45:18] Whoa, okay.

[00:45:19] We got all three arguments here.

[00:45:22] God damn.

[00:45:23] The entire spectrum of feelings for Twilight.

[00:45:25] And is this consensual non-consent role play?

[00:45:28] Resident Warhammer nerd says the vampire series sucks.

[00:45:30] No bite.

[00:45:31] Boom.

[00:45:32] Spubby says doesn't suck.

[00:45:33] It scrapes in licks and then they have a gift

[00:45:35] that the criminal ventures ability in Mandy.

[00:45:37] Spike, the fetish stream is killing me.

[00:45:39] And finally T-Wolfwood says my vampire lesbian

[00:45:41] experience with loneliness.

[00:45:42] Or.

[00:45:43] Hey.

[00:45:44] Manga was killing me with boredom.

[00:45:46] That's a good one T-Wolfwood because yeah,

[00:45:48] I actually brought that up in the chibi so good thought.

[00:45:50] That was actually what my six word summary was going to be

[00:45:53] before he wrote that one so I had to think of a different one.

[00:45:55] How about you David?

[00:45:56] What are your six word summaries?

[00:45:58] My first one is the gay vampire agenda wins again.

[00:46:02] Nice.

[00:46:03] And it's vampire hunter with Lady D.

[00:46:05] So that's a reference to vampire hunter D.

[00:46:08] But I think it didn't work out so well so that's why I said it second.

[00:46:11] With Lady D from Resident Evil for some reason.

[00:46:15] Yeah.

[00:46:16] I don't see it but alright.

[00:46:17] Well she's a vampire.

[00:46:18] Okay, alright.

[00:46:19] I was just making a joke because there's vampire hunter D

[00:46:21] and then Lady D.

[00:46:22] Seven feet tall though.

[00:46:23] Yeah.

[00:46:24] Could you imagine though?

[00:46:25] Oh my god that would make the series go.

[00:46:28] What if a woman was really tall?

[00:46:30] Whoa.

[00:46:31] What?

[00:46:32] And Jordan what was yours?

[00:46:33] No, don't suck my blood blush.

[00:46:36] Baka.

[00:46:37] And then chess have like pierced.

[00:46:40] And since I wrote mine just now I just said I wish this was Tokyo Ghoul.

[00:46:43] Unravel just put in a sound clip of Unravel that we legally could play.

[00:46:49] I just like yeah like I watched a decent chunk of Tokyo Ghoul

[00:46:53] and also like the whole time I was like I wish this was not this

[00:46:56] at the same time so there's this kind of like

[00:46:58] kind of like Jena Seqwav like nobody's doing like vampire ish,

[00:47:03] zombie ish, in high school ish, trying to be normal ish,

[00:47:07] romance ish stuff in the way that I wish it was doing.

[00:47:11] That's a good point.

[00:47:12] It's like a different combination of that stuff than what we've seen.

[00:47:17] Yeah.

[00:47:18] So now I guess is this a flop or not?

[00:47:21] I kind of thought it wasn't a flop and then I was discussing

[00:47:23] I was like oh yeah this is kind of shit.

[00:47:25] So I'm gonna say it's a regular flop.

[00:47:27] How about you Jordan?

[00:47:28] I was at the exact same boat actually

[00:47:31] because my issue is that I wanted more kind of.

[00:47:35] Yeah.

[00:47:36] But I don't know if the author was going to give it more

[00:47:39] is the problem.

[00:47:40] So I guess it is kind of a flop.

[00:47:43] Yeah.

[00:47:44] I think it's a flop and it's mostly like you said Jordan.

[00:47:48] Yeah, I want more and it's there's different definitions of more

[00:47:52] like I either want more story or I want more horny

[00:47:55] and it's kind of in this uncanny valley of not doing either well

[00:47:58] and so like why would I be invested in either you know.

[00:48:01] Inside of you are two wolves.

[00:48:03] The horny one and the plot intrigue one.

[00:48:08] Yeah no it just feels like if given more time

[00:48:11] the author wasn't gonna give this series what it needed.

[00:48:15] Nah nah.

[00:48:16] No.

[00:48:17] So Jess what would you say someone should check out instead of those?

[00:48:20] The first three episodes of Tokyo Ghoul.

[00:48:23] I really wanted that to be something I don't know.

[00:48:26] I really did too.

[00:48:28] I really wanted it to be I really thought it was going for this

[00:48:30] and this is a bit of an aside.

[00:48:32] I really thought Tokyo Ghoul was going for a eating disorder allegory

[00:48:36] because it was really focused on like eating, consuming

[00:48:40] and the morality of it and like weird stuff like that.

[00:48:43] I thought it was gonna go for something like that

[00:48:45] and then it was just like oh no we just it's a lot of drama

[00:48:47] and fighting and okay fine fine.

[00:48:50] Oh man it's just shown in manga.

[00:48:52] God damn it.

[00:48:53] Fine.

[00:48:54] And if you want lesbian stuff I don't read a ton of that.

[00:48:57] No it's fine.

[00:48:58] I don't need a ton of manga to be given.

[00:49:00] Hey it doesn't have to be manga actually

[00:49:02] I'm not gonna recommend a manga it's gonna be something else.

[00:49:05] Jordan's gonna recommend a fucking painting again.

[00:49:07] Yeah nah check it out.

[00:49:09] Check out a fucking whatever.

[00:49:13] Satter devouring is fucking sucks anyway.

[00:49:16] I knew that Jess wasn't gonna say Bram Stoker's Dracula

[00:49:19] for one thing.

[00:49:20] No I don't recommend that one.

[00:49:21] Interview with the vampire watch that instead

[00:49:23] if you want horny vampires.

[00:49:24] There we go.

[00:49:25] And if you just want a horny comic

[00:49:27] that is also very fucking funny but is explicit

[00:49:30] I would recommend Crime Hot by Alec Robin.

[00:49:32] Nice.

[00:49:34] I would recommend actually hey you want monsters

[00:49:37] you want high school you want teen hormones

[00:49:40] check out Ginger Snaps.

[00:49:42] I've heard good things about that.

[00:49:44] Oh that's such a good movie.

[00:49:46] I love that movie.

[00:49:48] That movie is so good.

[00:49:49] It's great also I want to say Jennifer's Body.

[00:49:52] Oh I haven't seen that one but I've heard of it.

[00:49:55] That's a vampire in fucking high school.

[00:49:58] That's a good one.

[00:49:59] And it has a lesbian scene.

[00:50:00] That's a good one because she's a recent vampire

[00:50:02] so it makes sense that she's in high school.

[00:50:04] She's not hanging out here for 400 years

[00:50:05] for no fucking reason because she's a pedophile.

[00:50:08] Yeah and then I have one recommendation in particular

[00:50:10] so if you want to see some horny

[00:50:12] and funny high school ramps there's 100 girlfriends

[00:50:14] which is really probably the dumbest

[00:50:17] manga I've ever read in my entire life.

[00:50:19] Is that the 100 girlfriends who really love you?

[00:50:22] Jess are you familiar with that manga?

[00:50:24] The name is ringing a bell but I don't know anything about it.

[00:50:27] I think the title probably tells me a lot though.

[00:50:29] Yeah so it's a guy who the god of love or fate

[00:50:32] fucked up his like paperwork for this guy

[00:50:34] so instead of having one soulmate he has 100.

[00:50:37] It's all about him falling in love with 100 people at the same time.

[00:50:41] I love clerical errors that cause like a cascade of mistakes.

[00:50:47] And he meets God and God just like my bad.

[00:50:50] So it's really stupid.

[00:50:51] Didn't we read that series?

[00:50:53] No it was called Love Rush.

[00:50:55] I'm just kidding.

[00:50:56] Yeah Love Rush is different.

[00:50:57] Love Rush is different and worse.

[00:50:58] The 100 girlfriends who really really really really really love you.

[00:51:02] Yes yes yes

[00:51:03] It's really stupid.

[00:51:04] Also I want to just give a shout out to Nick and Lever

[00:51:07] which is my favorite gag comic I'm reading right now.

[00:51:10] It's so good.

[00:51:12] Jess um I don't know have you ever read the Perry Bible Fellowship?

[00:51:15] Oh yeah.

[00:51:16] It's literally if the dude from the Perry Bible Fellowship

[00:51:19] made a manga.

[00:51:20] Got a very similar art style too.

[00:51:21] And it's just this stupid shit.

[00:51:23] I guess one like good example from an earlier comic is

[00:51:26] so one of the characters is trying to find something under

[00:51:28] a vending machine and they're trying to figure out what to do.

[00:51:30] And the other character has like a light bulb.

[00:51:32] You know like a like a comic like a light bulb and he grabs

[00:51:35] the light bulb and uses it to illuminate under the vending machine.

[00:51:38] That's fine.

[00:51:39] I like that.

[00:51:40] I like those hammer space jokes where someone just conjures

[00:51:43] something out of nowhere loony tune style.

[00:51:45] What was the name of this one?

[00:51:46] Nick and Lever.

[00:51:47] Nick and Lever.

[00:51:49] Yeah.

[00:51:50] Very well done pencil drawings too.

[00:51:52] Oh yeah look at this art style damn.

[00:51:54] Yeah it's legitimately if you had told me the guy from

[00:51:57] the Perry Bible Fellowship just like was it fucking like

[00:52:00] witness protection and moved to Japan and made this I would believe you.

[00:52:03] I see what you mean about that yeah.

[00:52:05] Oh man.

[00:52:06] Oh god all right so Jordan I would say this is not the

[00:52:09] worst thing we have ever covered on this show would you agree?

[00:52:12] I would say so as well also not the best thing but hey you know.

[00:52:16] Can't always be.

[00:52:17] Can't always be time paradox go straighter.

[00:52:19] Oh god all right well let's get into wrap up and

[00:52:22] end this show how's that sound.

[00:52:23] Let's do it.

[00:52:24] Cool.

[00:52:25] Jess thank you so much we could not have asked for a more

[00:52:27] exciting guest to be on our hundredth episode.

[00:52:30] Oh shucks.

[00:52:31] Keep this between us but Jordan has been you have been very

[00:52:34] high at Jordan's like wish list for guests on the show.

[00:52:36] Yes it's true.

[00:52:37] But just keep that between us.

[00:52:39] Aw shoot.

[00:52:40] Oh thanks David.

[00:52:41] It's embarrassing me.

[00:52:43] Embarrassing me in front of Senpai David.

[00:52:47] That is very nice of you to say I'm honored.

[00:52:50] I did not know I was going to be on the hundredth episode

[00:52:52] now I feel like out of place and special.

[00:52:54] I didn't know either was a little surprise when I arranged

[00:52:56] that for episode 100.

[00:52:58] Congratulations on the hundredth episode.

[00:53:00] Thank you.

[00:53:01] Oh my god.

[00:53:02] Oh my god.

[00:53:03] legitimate.

[00:53:04] Oh school tenders will be at that before you know it.

[00:53:06] Oh god.

[00:53:07] 45 by the time.

[00:53:09] Oh god.

[00:53:10] We're up to episode 1213.

[00:53:12] I don't know when this comes out though so I might be.

[00:53:15] This will be out in two weeks from recording.

[00:53:18] Probably 14 then by then.

[00:53:20] I don't know.

[00:53:21] Nice.

[00:53:22] Every day you get closer.

[00:53:25] And Jess where can they find school tenders and all of the

[00:53:27] other great things you do?

[00:53:28] Oh boy.

[00:53:29] You can find Skull Tenders which is a actual play D&D

[00:53:32] podcast and don't know don't run away.

[00:53:35] Come back come back.

[00:53:36] Wait wait wait.

[00:53:37] It's good though.

[00:53:38] It's funny though.

[00:53:39] I swear to god.

[00:53:40] It's pretty good.

[00:53:41] I can attest to that.

[00:53:42] I've listened to it pretty good.

[00:53:44] Yeah it's like it's more like a radio play that was

[00:53:47] made up on the fly.

[00:53:48] You know so we make all this shit up on the fly.

[00:53:50] We have a bunch of fun.

[00:53:51] Intriguing and then I put a bunch of sound effects and

[00:53:53] music all over this thing so it sounds professional.

[00:53:56] Can you give us a sound fact right now for the audience?

[00:53:59] Oh a sound fact right now.

[00:54:01] This sound is my favorite sound in the world and I try

[00:54:06] really hard to put it in every episode somewhere but

[00:54:09] it's hard to tell where it's hard to tell where it

[00:54:11] is because I fuck up the sound and make it sound

[00:54:13] different.

[00:54:14] So it just so organically fit into our recording right

[00:54:17] now.

[00:54:18] How do you do it?

[00:54:19] Yeah.

[00:54:20] Just fitting in those sound effects.

[00:54:22] Nothing happened I just opened the door actually.

[00:54:24] Yeah my doctor in her head she was very confused.

[00:54:27] I would love to know the history of this sound god

[00:54:30] I'm just fixated on it.

[00:54:31] It's all over.

[00:54:32] You watch the X files?

[00:54:34] God every episode there's a goddamn squee poo in

[00:54:36] that thing.

[00:54:37] The whalem scream of door opening sounds.

[00:54:39] Everywhere I love it.

[00:54:40] It's like I've seen an old friend from across

[00:54:42] the way every time I hear it but yeah like

[00:54:44] I try to like I slow it down.

[00:54:46] I put a bunch of weird reverb on it.

[00:54:48] Like I speed it up.

[00:54:49] I only use half of the front half or the back

[00:54:51] half of it so it's like where's Waldo but

[00:54:53] audio style.

[00:54:54] It's remixing sound effect.

[00:54:55] If you want to look out for my squee poos.

[00:54:57] Well I'm definitely going to do that now.

[00:54:59] Yeah.

[00:55:00] But you can listen to SkullTenders anywhere

[00:55:02] you get fine podcasts basically it's on

[00:55:04] your Spotify, your Apple Podcast.

[00:55:06] We got an RSS feed all the goods

[00:55:08] basically.

[00:55:09] I love it and it's always great to have

[00:55:11] a new high quality actual like a radio

[00:55:14] drama let's or I was going to say let's play

[00:55:16] but that doesn't make sense.

[00:55:17] Let's play D&D.

[00:55:19] Let's play.

[00:55:20] Yeah.

[00:55:21] It kind of is actually.

[00:55:22] Hang on a second.

[00:55:23] I salute you as doing the editing.

[00:55:25] Jordan and I do a monthly D&D thing with

[00:55:27] some of our podcast friends but we're

[00:55:28] like yeah no one actually wants to edit

[00:55:29] this so we just do it for fun.

[00:55:31] Oh yeah it's a nightmare.

[00:55:32] Don't do it.

[00:55:33] Don't edit.

[00:55:34] D&D.

[00:55:35] Yeah.

[00:55:36] They're like David you edit

[00:55:37] show in a floppy way.

[00:55:38] I was like god no.

[00:55:39] Absolutely not on your life am I

[00:55:40] editing this.

[00:55:41] You got to really commit.

[00:55:42] You got to be really hyper fixated

[00:55:43] like me on the podcast.

[00:55:45] Exactly.

[00:55:46] I don't want to kill myself this

[00:55:48] rules actually.

[00:55:49] But that's fantastic.

[00:55:51] Jordan thank you so much for making

[00:55:52] the opening ending theme being a

[00:55:53] great co-host and helping with

[00:55:54] editing.

[00:55:55] Oh thank you so much for your

[00:55:57] editing and putting the podcast

[00:55:59] together and you know just for

[00:56:01] being a friend David.

[00:56:02] Aw man right back at you big guy.

[00:56:04] Travel up the road and back again.

[00:56:06] Aw.

[00:56:07] Props to Merlyle for the awesome

[00:56:08] cover find her online at

[00:56:09] Lyle Mer and Nigel for being

[00:56:10] our generous art benefactor.
