This island full of monsters sure is some kind of Hell's Paradise.
David and Jordan give their first thoughts on Shonen Jump manga Dear Anemone. Listen in as they give an overview of the first chapter, where they think it will go from there, and ultimately their "power word" to describe the series so far. They also dive into some listener questions.

[00:00:15] Welcome to Shonen Flop, Jimmy! First Impressions mini-episode where we talk about the first chapter of the series we'll be covering in-depth next week with our guest, the official letterer of the series, Finn K.
[00:00:28] Finn, yeah. Fink. Big Fink. I'm sure he hates being called that. I'm Jordan and with me today as usual is my lovely co-host David. Say hi, David.
[00:00:36] I wish we had done an episode on Hell's Paradise because I would have just repeated my intro for that.
[00:00:40] Uh, what is this? Some kind of Hex Eden? Fucking, I don't know. Hex Heaven? Heaven Ex Machina. Yeah.
[00:00:50] Anyway, we are talking about Dear Anemone. I hope that's how it said right. Almost. Close enough.
[00:00:56] Dear Anemone. Sure. Yep.
[00:00:59] Anemone and Ivory. Best friends through history.
[00:01:02] Uh, just that's what Dante told me.
[00:01:04] Oh, I was about to make that Devil May Cry. But anyway, shall we get into the manga details?
[00:01:09] Uh, you know, uh, David, I've heard that Dante is from the Devil May Cry series.
[00:01:14] Really? And it also features Knuckles.
[00:01:16] Yeah. Anyway, this is Dear Anemone from, uh, Matsui Rin.
[00:01:20] It ran from February 19th, 2024 to June 17th, 2024. Short one.
[00:01:27] Yeah. U19, baby.
[00:01:29] U19 again. 17 chapters, two volumes. We've been hitting. U19 club.
[00:01:35] We've had a lot of U19s lately.
[00:01:37] Yeah. I'm down for it. It means less work for us.
[00:01:40] Yeah.
[00:01:40] Theoretically, at least.
[00:01:42] Yeah.
[00:01:42] Uh, depends how the manga goes. Usually, yes.
[00:01:46] God, what a series this is.
[00:01:48] Oh, man. Okay.
[00:01:50] Let's get to the plot summary of the first chapter of Dear Anemone.
[00:01:53] Sentenced to death, ninja Gabimaru the Hollow finds himself apathetic.
[00:01:57] After leading a blood-soaked life, Gabimaru believes he deserves to die.
[00:02:01] However, every attempt to execute him inexplicitly fails.
[00:02:05] Finally, Sagiri Yamada Aseimon.
[00:02:08] Oh, no, David. I was reading from the My Anime List listing for Hell's Paradise.
[00:02:15] What? What? Oh, my God. Anyway.
[00:02:19] Who would have thought we'd make that joke in this episode?
[00:02:22] Right? Apparently, the Galapagos Islands is home to a bunch of evil man-eating monsters.
[00:02:28] Like, there was, like, a group of researchers or mercenaries or something
[00:02:31] who went there and got brutally eaten by monsters, which, David, they evolved there.
[00:02:36] If I were going to say, turns out man is the real monster.
[00:02:39] Well, we haven't gotten there yet.
[00:02:41] Probably is a good guess for this series.
[00:02:43] That's kind of one of my guesses.
[00:02:45] God damn it.
[00:02:46] Flash forward and Gaka Hachuie, which I assume is how you pronounce that,
[00:02:50] is riding on a boat with a bunch of people, including Ryuichi,
[00:02:54] who has a crazy lip-ringed chain, and befriends Gaka.
[00:02:57] They're there in order to go to Galapagos and find or save the missing group from earlier.
[00:03:03] A kid's like, who the fuck is Charles Darwin?
[00:03:05] And an old guy explains the concept of evolution and the significance of the Galapagos Islands.
[00:03:11] Because, David, the Republican Party's ideology has even infected the schools of Japan.
[00:03:18] Oh, God.
[00:03:18] But Gaka's like, oh, hey, I've heard of evolution.
[00:03:21] I mean, his friend told him about it, though, because he's not, like, a nerd or anything.
[00:03:24] Then Lucille Bluth comes out and said that there was a huge explosion 10 years ago,
[00:03:29] which released a virus on Galapagos, and now they got no idea what's going on over there.
[00:03:34] But if this team spends a month on the island looking for the missing group,
[00:03:37] they'll get a ton of money.
[00:03:38] Just big wads of cash.
[00:03:40] Popcorn David.
[00:03:41] Buckets of Dosh.
[00:03:42] Loads of money.
[00:03:43] They get to the whole island and exposit.
[00:03:45] I knew you were going to do loads of money.
[00:03:47] How much they're there for the money when a guy from the research group shows up
[00:03:50] and brutally kills Ryuichi, because it's one of those series where anyone can die.
[00:03:53] Isn't that edgy?
[00:03:55] That's amazing.
[00:03:56] So glad we got to know that character.
[00:03:57] He didn't even get a title card.
[00:03:59] He did, but he got it later.
[00:04:00] Like, after we were introduced to him,
[00:04:02] they were just randomly walking and then they showed it.
[00:04:05] It's like, why are you telling us now?
[00:04:06] Imagine if the monster just burst through the title card and killed him.
[00:04:09] You know, David, it's funny.
[00:04:10] People are like, oh man, anyone can die.
[00:04:13] And it's like, there's a reason why that's not the most common thing.
[00:04:16] And it's that, you know, generally when you have a character that like you care about,
[00:04:20] it's good to have characters like that in your series.
[00:04:24] You also need to make it feel like there's value to the characters before they die.
[00:04:27] Yeah.
[00:04:28] Anyway, the team hears someone calling for help and Haru goes to investigate only to find out it's actually a big chicken monster.
[00:04:33] She shoots a load of bullets from a gun, but it doesn't do anything.
[00:04:36] Gakka then has a flashback to when a kid named Kotaro saves him from bullies and they become best friends,
[00:04:41] even though the author isn't really that good at drawing children.
[00:04:43] So he looks kind of weird.
[00:04:44] No, he is not.
[00:04:45] Kotaro talks very, very part six of Rocky.
[00:04:48] Kotaro talks about a flower metaphor for being strong and how he's obsessed with the island of Galapagos and Charles Darwin.
[00:04:53] Turns out Kotaro was actually part of the missing group, which is a real reason why Gakka came on the mission.
[00:04:57] Gakka charges at the giant chicken monster because he's no chicken,
[00:05:00] which grabs him and ends up spilling his blood all over a flower.
[00:05:03] They jump to the boat where Lucille talks to Buster about how this group is a bunch of sacrifices,
[00:05:07] but they have potential because the island is paradise and a hell.
[00:05:12] Literally though, right?
[00:05:13] Like that's what they say.
[00:05:14] Was it some sort of hell's paradise?
[00:05:16] I know.
[00:05:17] They literally say this island is a paradise and a hell.
[00:05:21] Like I am quoting verbatim right there.
[00:05:24] Just then, a bunch of vines burst out from the flower under Gakka and then turn into a weird monster with a pretty face that saves him.
[00:05:30] And he remembers Kotaro saying it's an enema somehow.
[00:05:34] It's an enema somehow.
[00:05:35] Yeah.
[00:05:36] What are you, my enemy?
[00:05:37] Hey, hey, hey, enema of the state.
[00:05:40] So Jordan, what's your first impressions besides the fact this is literally hell's paradise?
[00:05:43] Oh, the monster designs are cool.
[00:05:46] Oh yeah, this author definitely didn't actually want to plot.
[00:05:48] He just wanted to draw cool monsters.
[00:05:50] He just wanted to draw creepy monsters.
[00:05:52] And you know what, man?
[00:05:53] I respect that.
[00:05:54] I do.
[00:05:55] I mean, drawing creepy weird monsters, it's fucking fun.
[00:05:58] And it's cool if you can do it right.
[00:05:59] This guy, he knows how to draw creepy shit.
[00:06:01] But also the dialogue is a fucking mess.
[00:06:05] Oh my God.
[00:06:05] Not even just like what's said, just like the way it's laid out.
[00:06:08] Like I was just-
[00:06:09] But the lettering is perfect.
[00:06:10] Yeah, the lettering is amazing.
[00:06:11] But like the layouts and like, it feels like everyone's talking over each other somehow.
[00:06:16] Like, yeah.
[00:06:17] I was trying to read like these pages of them talking and my eyes were just glazing over.
[00:06:22] Like, I don't even know exactly specifically what happened to do that.
[00:06:26] There's a lot going on.
[00:06:27] Also, the paneling is kind of boring.
[00:06:29] Yeah, it's not.
[00:06:30] It's nothing to write home about.
[00:06:31] Yeah, I mean, that's the whole series.
[00:06:32] It's like, oh, anyone can die.
[00:06:34] Enough ever.
[00:06:34] We've seen this before.
[00:06:35] Cool monster designs.
[00:06:36] We've seen that before.
[00:06:37] A cold opening that's horror themed.
[00:06:39] We've seen that before.
[00:06:40] It's just like this guy literally was trying to think of the laziest plot possible that
[00:06:43] would just let him draw cool monsters.
[00:06:45] Yeah, and his idea was to take Hell's Paradise without the buildup episodes.
[00:06:51] Yeah, there are like a bunch of episodes before they go to the island, just like building
[00:06:56] it up and stuff and introducing the characters.
[00:06:59] He's just like, no, that's not necessary.
[00:07:00] That was the coolest part.
[00:07:01] Have you seen Annihilation?
[00:07:02] No, I've heard it's really good.
[00:07:03] Pretty much Annihilation again.
[00:07:04] And that was a great movie.
[00:07:05] Oh, I see.
[00:07:06] Maybe we'll make the parody of that Annihilation.
[00:07:07] Oh, we got to think about the cover art, actually.
[00:07:09] But yeah, everything's just thrown at you.
[00:07:10] The characters are like, oh, look, here's a minimum amount of information about me.
[00:07:14] When I die, I feel like I really channeled Rem in that comment.
[00:07:19] It's not too far off from, oh boy, I'm retiring tomorrow.
[00:07:22] Yeah.
[00:07:23] Oh, man, I need this.
[00:07:24] I need this money to save my sister who's sick.
[00:07:27] Oh, no, I'm dead.
[00:07:28] I'm surprised there wasn't a scene where someone's like, oh, can't eat peanuts.
[00:07:32] I'm allergic.
[00:07:32] And then he gets killed by like a peanut monster or the vegetarian gets murdered by the chicken.
[00:07:37] David, that would have made me like this more.
[00:07:41] That actually sounds keno.
[00:07:42] That's actually fucking awesome.
[00:07:46] Fucking allergic to peanuts dies to a peanut monster.
[00:07:49] That would be fucking great, actually.
[00:07:51] Mr. Peanut just shows up and brutally murders him.
[00:07:54] I was kind of iffy on whether or not I'd read more of this.
[00:07:57] If a peanut monster showed up and ate a kid who was like allergic to peanuts, I would read it.
[00:08:01] I'm like 100 percent.
[00:08:02] Yes, would read it.
[00:08:04] Just three days away from retiring from the peanut farm where I was definitely allergic the whole time.
[00:08:08] Oh, God.
[00:08:09] Yeah.
[00:08:09] No, I mean, like that said, like the designs are really cool.
[00:08:14] Like despite the fact it's like an easy kind of concept, like it still seems like it could be fun.
[00:08:19] Theoretically, at least like, I mean, I think I really just want to see more creepy monsters.
[00:08:24] I think that's the main reason why I'm somewhat interested in this.
[00:08:29] Listen, you can tell there really just isn't anything that happens in this chapter, despite Jordan having a decently long plot summary.
[00:08:33] I also want to say I don't think that the cliffhanger at the end was interesting.
[00:08:37] No, this felt like they needed an authority pages from when that point happens.
[00:08:40] Yeah, no.
[00:08:41] I'm like, OK, cool.
[00:08:42] What a cliffhanger.
[00:08:43] OK.
[00:08:44] It kind of seemed obvious.
[00:08:46] Yeah.
[00:08:46] Like, no way.
[00:08:47] You mean these like young people being sent into a death trap like the company doing it that's paying them is not on the up and up.
[00:08:56] That's a twist I haven't seen five billion times already.
[00:08:59] I literally has one of my guesses.
[00:09:01] It turns out they never intended them to make it to the end.
[00:09:04] And then they said that midway through.
[00:09:06] And I was like, oh, OK, so we're not trying to even pretend that that's not the plot.
[00:09:10] No, this was a really hard what I read in our 10 chapters of this.
[00:09:14] What did you think?
[00:09:15] I was like, yeah, sure.
[00:09:16] Whatever.
[00:09:17] Again, I kind of just want to see more creepy monster designs because I do like that.
[00:09:21] I think this guy is talented at it.
[00:09:23] And like if he can throw out one or two cool monsters like per chapter or something, I'll read it.
[00:09:30] Fuck.
[00:09:30] All right.
[00:09:31] Yeah.
[00:09:31] But nothing else is doing that for me.
[00:09:33] Like the plot isn't.
[00:09:34] The characters aren't.
[00:09:36] Like there's nothing else.
[00:09:37] The fact that it's a U19 really is saying I would commit to finishing this.
[00:09:41] If this was 35 chapters, I'd probably be like, nah.
[00:09:43] Or actually, it's in our 10 chapters.
[00:09:45] So I guess I would no matter what.
[00:09:47] You mentioned Jordan has like a decently long plot summary.
[00:09:49] I really could have summarized the whole thing as like a bunch of dudes die.
[00:09:54] Kid gets on boat to save his friend and go with a bunch of other dudes to the island of the Galapagos.
[00:10:01] And oh my God, there are monsters there.
[00:10:03] And then it turns out they were sent to be like sacrifices.
[00:10:06] And then the kid like bleeds on a flower and the flower comes.
[00:10:09] Yeah.
[00:10:10] Saves it.
[00:10:10] That's the chapter.
[00:10:11] After our last episode where you said 10, 15 chapters of bullshit happens.
[00:10:16] Was I wrong though?
[00:10:17] No, you weren't wrong.
[00:10:19] I think that episode maybe.
[00:10:20] I'm editing it now.
[00:10:21] I think that episode is in danger of being under 45 minutes.
[00:10:25] There's just nothing to talk about with Psych House, man.
[00:10:29] Yeah.
[00:10:29] What do you say?
[00:10:30] So anyway, yeah.
[00:10:31] So yeah, kind of maybe I guess I'd read it.
[00:10:33] And Jordan though, before we get into what we think will happen next.
[00:10:36] If you've been joining the show, we'd really appreciate if you subscribe to the Shonen Flop YouTube.
[00:10:39] We're trying to hit our goal of 1500 YouTube subs.
[00:10:42] And if we hit it, we'll do a special bonus episode on the Bill King Epilogue.
[00:10:45] We are only 140 subs away.
[00:10:47] If you're already subbed, thank you so much.
[00:10:49] And I would much rather probably read those chapters than read some of the garbage we've
[00:10:52] read this year.
[00:10:53] God, I don't know though.
[00:10:54] It's Bill King.
[00:10:56] I mean, Bill King's fucking bad.
[00:10:58] I think that we might have forgotten how bad Bill King is because distance makes the heart
[00:11:03] grow fonder.
[00:11:04] But like...
[00:11:05] We're going to find out.
[00:11:06] Yeah.
[00:11:06] Anyway.
[00:11:07] Anyway, what do you think will happen next, Jordan?
[00:11:08] I think there's sacrifices to create a super soldier type thing, which the main character
[00:11:13] is turning into.
[00:11:14] I think that the volcano explosion was related to man's industrialization and pollution and
[00:11:20] stuff like that.
[00:11:21] Didn't that volcano explosion happen millions of years ago?
[00:11:25] No, they said 10 years ago.
[00:11:26] Oh, I'm sorry.
[00:11:27] I thought you meant the volcano that just controlled that, just create the island.
[00:11:30] I was like, what?
[00:11:30] I think I just mean explosion.
[00:11:32] There was...
[00:11:33] I thought it was from a volcano.
[00:11:34] Oh, yes.
[00:11:35] Yes.
[00:11:35] Explosions weren't invented until the Industrial Revolution.
[00:11:37] No, I thought it was volcano, but like it might have just been an explosion.
[00:11:41] Who cares?
[00:11:42] None of this mattered.
[00:11:43] Whatever.
[00:11:43] There was an explosion and it was related to man's industrialization and pollution and
[00:11:48] stuff is my guess.
[00:11:49] Yeah.
[00:11:49] They're going to find Kentaro and he's now possessed by a corpse that is like now an evil
[00:11:54] bad guy.
[00:11:55] Yep.
[00:11:55] I wrote a guess and I crossed it out because it was intentionally stupid.
[00:11:59] Dude, what if they found an ancient superpower, Charles Darwin, who like teaches them stuff?
[00:12:03] Oh, that would be Charles Darwin's like, oh, you found me.
[00:12:07] Just takes out a sword and his health bar shows up.
[00:12:09] OK, but that would happen in Hungry Joker.
[00:12:11] That would be sick as fuck.
[00:12:13] That would be awesome.
[00:12:14] They did have the evolution piece.
[00:12:16] Exactly.
[00:12:17] How about you, David?
[00:12:18] What's going to happen next?
[00:12:19] I think the main character was a psycho the whole time.
[00:12:23] Oh, my God.
[00:12:24] Unreliable narrator.
[00:12:25] Unreliable narrator.
[00:12:26] I think the main character is going to choose to stay on the island in the end and just,
[00:12:30] you know, this is a part of my guess, but maybe he just finds these one with the animals.
[00:12:34] Wow.
[00:12:34] So touching.
[00:12:35] And I think they're going to meet some crazy dude.
[00:12:37] So someone from the original team who has been able to survive.
[00:12:39] Will he be an ally or backstab him so that that's how he survived?
[00:12:43] You're going to have to find out because either of those are going to be probably very
[00:12:46] boringly done.
[00:12:47] Yes.
[00:12:48] I like how ours is both like our last one is both somebody from the original crew survives.
[00:12:53] Mine's a little bit more specific, but yours is like the guy is alive.
[00:12:57] Yeah.
[00:12:57] Listen, Jordan, I'm in for the points.
[00:12:59] Look, I don't blame you.
[00:13:01] Yeah.
[00:13:02] All right.
[00:13:02] And then Jordan, your power word?
[00:13:03] Poison.
[00:13:04] Because David.
[00:13:05] This manga is poison.
[00:13:07] There is poison in this manga and the anemone thing at the end.
[00:13:14] She kind of looks like Poison Ivy.
[00:13:16] And also this manga's box office poison, David.
[00:13:20] Yeah.
[00:13:21] Oh, my.
[00:13:22] How about you?
[00:13:23] Mine's fake.
[00:13:24] This is just like a fucking it's like a fake plant, you know, don't got to water.
[00:13:28] It doesn't provide anything.
[00:13:29] This is just, again, hell's paradise at home.
[00:13:31] Yeah.
[00:13:32] I can't believe we both said that we'd read 10 more chapters of it.
[00:13:35] And we've said like almost nothing good about it.
[00:13:38] I just want to know what the fuck it's going to do.
[00:13:40] Yeah.
[00:13:40] I and again, I literally just want to see this guy's monster design.
[00:13:44] Yeah.
[00:13:45] Maybe I'll just maybe I would just skim 10 chapters and not read anything and just look
[00:13:49] at the drawings.
[00:13:50] Yeah.
[00:13:51] Would you skip 10 chapters of this?
[00:13:52] Would you just look at the drawing?
[00:13:55] Yeah.
[00:13:56] And so the opposite of monsters are people who send us questions in the Q&A.
[00:14:00] Big thank you to everyone who submits.
[00:14:01] You can find a link to our discord in shownaflop.com.
[00:14:05] We always get priority to those who are patron.
[00:14:06] Haven't asked a question before.
[00:14:07] Haven't had a question answered in a long time.
[00:14:09] From Agpa.
[00:14:09] Which series or protagonist have you changed your opinion on the most since you covered
[00:14:12] it on the show?
[00:14:13] I feel we've been feeling more positive about Candy Flurry lately.
[00:14:17] We have.
[00:14:18] I feel like we have.
[00:14:19] Which has been like, oh, that was fun.
[00:14:21] That was fun, you know?
[00:14:22] And I like that character, you know?
[00:14:24] Yeah.
[00:14:24] So I guess that's the one where it's like, I definitely put it on the re-review pile.
[00:14:28] I feel like shortly after we reviewed it, I was like, damn, you know, Dark Mage was actually
[00:14:34] a flop.
[00:14:34] I shouldn't have said it.
[00:14:35] Yeah.
[00:14:36] It's so stupid though.
[00:14:37] I did because at that point it was like, I feel like we'd only reviewed flops and I
[00:14:42] was just like, I was desperate to find something that wasn't a flop.
[00:14:46] Yeah.
[00:14:46] And maybe I was too hard on Matama's security.
[00:14:48] I liked that series.
[00:14:50] That was a good series.
[00:14:51] I did.
[00:14:51] I know you did.
[00:14:52] I thought it was a flop, but who knows?
[00:14:54] Yeah.
[00:14:54] I really did like Service Wars though more than you did.
[00:14:56] Yeah.
[00:14:56] Which is ironic actually, I guess.
[00:14:58] No, I feel like we had very similar complaints for the opposite series.
[00:15:04] All right.
[00:15:04] And then next up, which popular manga had a rough first chapter?
[00:15:08] Popular as in a hundred plus chapters and or an anime adaption.
[00:15:10] I think Jordan, I kind of see this one because I think we both know the answer to what manga
[00:15:14] did we really like that had a very rough first chapter?
[00:15:16] What?
[00:15:17] You mean like Cool Frog and Dolphin?
[00:15:20] What?
[00:15:20] Harbo Cop.
[00:15:21] Yes.
[00:15:21] You're actually right.
[00:15:22] Harbo Cop and Dolphin.
[00:15:23] But that's not a hundred chapters.
[00:15:25] Yeah.
[00:15:25] I was thinking.
[00:15:26] Don to Don.
[00:15:26] Yeah.
[00:15:27] Don to Don is the answer.
[00:15:28] I just really hate that first chapter for having a sexual assault scene.
[00:15:32] It literally starts out with really intense violence against women.
[00:15:38] I get it's explained later on and that's the reason Turbo Granny shows up as explained
[00:15:42] in like episode four.
[00:15:43] But I'm still like, oh, did you really need that?
[00:15:45] You really didn't.
[00:15:46] That first episode completely turned Steph off of like the whole thing.
[00:15:49] Yeah.
[00:15:50] And it's a shame.
[00:15:51] But also like that was really bad.
[00:15:53] I don't blame you for not wanting to stick around.
[00:15:55] Yeah.
[00:15:55] My other one is and I've mentioned this over and over and over and over and over again.
[00:16:00] But can you come on?
[00:16:01] Yeah.
[00:16:01] That has a rough like 30 chapters, right?
[00:16:03] It's kind of like a rough, maybe not that long, like maybe like 14 chapters, like long
[00:16:09] enough.
[00:16:09] Yeah.
[00:16:10] Next up.
[00:16:11] What is your favorite unmixed drink?
[00:16:13] I don't drink a lot of mixed drinks.
[00:16:15] So like, I don't know.
[00:16:16] Well, it's unmixed.
[00:16:17] I feel like this is trashy and embarrassing, but I am a gamer.
[00:16:20] I do drink Mountain Dew.
[00:16:22] How about you?
[00:16:22] I'm all about water.
[00:16:23] God fucking health nut.
[00:16:25] I just drank from an empty water bottle approval point that I don't know what point was
[00:16:28] made by that.
[00:16:28] Anyway, moving on from Red Blade.
[00:16:32] If you could invite a character from a flop manga to be on the podcast for their manga
[00:16:36] relook episode, who would you choose?
[00:16:39] Um, the girl from Candy Flurry.
[00:16:42] Yeah, I knew you were going to say that.
[00:16:44] That's why I didn't say anything.
[00:16:45] I also think the dude from Time Paradox Ghost Rider literally is a manga artist.
[00:16:49] So he would be amazing.
[00:16:50] He would be really good.
[00:16:51] He would both critique his fictional manga in the manga itself.
[00:16:53] So I think that would be my slam dunk pick.
[00:16:55] Especially if we got him from the end of the manga where he became like a successful manga
[00:17:00] artist on his own.
[00:17:01] Yeah, man.
[00:17:02] That manga is very like very inspiring on an artistic level.
[00:17:06] Yeah, it's a good we need to re-review it at some point.
[00:17:09] Yeah.
[00:17:09] I'm so mad at the next three ones, but go ahead.
[00:17:12] From Resident Warhammer Nerd.
[00:17:13] What is the average airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
[00:17:16] African or European?
[00:17:17] I don't know.
[00:17:22] And then, Grapewater asks, will quoting Monty Python's Holy Grail ever go out of fashion?
[00:17:26] It has never been in fashion, so it can't go out of fashion.
[00:17:29] And, would you ever expect the Spanish Inquisition?
[00:17:34] I saw it coming!
[00:17:35] Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
[00:17:38] No, but David, as soon as I saw the question, I expected it.
[00:17:41] So I mean, like, I already expected it.
[00:17:43] Like, after I saw the first two Monty Python questions, I immediately expected the Spanish
[00:17:49] Inquisition.
[00:17:49] Okay?
[00:17:50] So take that.
[00:17:51] Can you imagine if, like, I had just driven to Philly and was, like, recording this in
[00:17:55] my car outside your house?
[00:17:56] And you're like, yeah, but I know what you won't expect.
[00:17:58] You just hear a knock on the door.
[00:17:59] It sounds like, David, what the fuck are you doing here?
[00:18:02] Hey, bitch.
[00:18:02] Bet you thought you'd seen the last of me.
[00:18:06] Surprise, bitch.
[00:18:07] That's what it is.
[00:18:07] Surprise, bitch.
[00:18:08] Anyway, Jordan, I want to say, speaking of bitches, thank you so much for all your hard
[00:18:11] work on the show.
[00:18:12] Hey!
[00:18:13] Got him.
[00:18:14] Oh, my God.
[00:18:15] Whatever.
[00:18:16] Thanks, David.
