[00:00:12] Jordan, can you believe it's that time of year again? It's...
[00:00:20] This is everyone's favorite canceled manga year-end review awards show hosted by the wonderful me, David.
[00:00:27] Hosted by the wonderful Jordan and myself, David.
[00:00:29] In case you didn't know the names of the people on a podcast, you're probably listening to for quite some time.
[00:00:34] If this is your first episode, then...
[00:00:37] It shouldn't be. It really, really shouldn't be.
[00:00:39] This is not representative of our podcast. We don't do an awards show every single episode.
[00:00:45] That will be an interesting idea for a podcast.
[00:00:47] That sounds like a fun one.
[00:00:50] Oh my God.
[00:00:51] But yeah, and so though, just for those who do not know the floppies, what we do is Jordan and I have nominated three series each for a wonderful batch of categories.
[00:01:00] We have a lot of really fun topics coming up, including biggest drop in quality, craziest ending, best six word summary, and of course, episode of the year.
[00:01:07] You know something? People talk all the time about EGOTs, but nobody's gotten a FIGOT yet, you know?
[00:01:13] Yeah. We have had some Eisner winners though on the show.
[00:01:16] That is true.
[00:01:16] Shout out to Xander Cannon.
[00:01:18] Yeah.
[00:01:18] I remember it was a big deal when we had our first guest on the head of Wikipedia page, which I think also was Xander Cannon.
[00:01:23] Oh man.
[00:01:24] I also want to give a big shout out to everyone in the community who submitted their own floppies nominations.
[00:01:28] We will include the template if you still want to do yours, but unfortunately it would be too late to influence.
[00:01:32] So I want to give a shout out to Redblade, TheGreyPotter, Dacarson, Spubby, DudeRox, Luffy, Oropelden, and Elysian for considering what they thought we should nominate for the floppies.
[00:01:41] So we really appreciate it.
[00:01:42] It definitely helped me consider what I ended up nominating.
[00:01:44] Yes, thank you.
[00:01:44] The way it's going to work is we're going to do the category and then Jordan and I will list off our nominees.
[00:01:48] Sometimes we have it where we have the same nominees or at least one overlaps.
[00:01:51] That's usually the winner, but we still always discuss it just in case, unless it's really obvious.
[00:01:55] I think our manga of the year, Jordan, is not going to be a surprise.
[00:01:58] No.
[00:01:58] So with that in mind, let's get started.
[00:02:00] So our first award is biggest drop in quality.
[00:02:04] Biggest drop in quality.
[00:02:07] So for biggest drop in quality, I nominate Yui Kamino, Takamagahara, and Dear Animone.
[00:02:13] Mine is Takamagahara, Yui Kamino, and David's going to be upset to hear this one, but Service Wars.
[00:02:19] I understand.
[00:02:19] I still think it was a fun read.
[00:02:21] Yeah.
[00:02:21] So we have two overlap.
[00:02:23] So let's probably discuss those two.
[00:02:24] Yeah.
[00:02:25] Yeah.
[00:02:25] I think Takamagahara, I was like, ah, this seems like it's kind of fun.
[00:02:28] And it dropped off.
[00:02:29] Yui Kamino, I genuinely did not think it was a flop.
[00:02:31] And then it dropped in quality from not a flop to a flop, which really breaks my heart.
[00:02:35] But I feel the same way about Takamagahara.
[00:02:38] I really liked where it was going significantly more than I liked Yui Kamino.
[00:02:42] Yui Kamino, I was kind of like, all right, well, it's getting all right.
[00:02:45] Okay.
[00:02:46] Okay.
[00:02:46] Okay.
[00:02:47] But like Takamagahara, I was like, oh, this is not a flop.
[00:02:50] This is like pretty fucking good.
[00:02:51] And then like, it just completely shit the bed.
[00:02:54] Ultimately though, I really do think that Yui Kamino had the bigger drop in quality from
[00:02:58] its highs in the initial, when it really got into its groove and then fell out.
[00:03:02] You know what?
[00:03:02] I support that David, because it did get pretty good for like a few chapters.
[00:03:07] So the winner for biggest drop in quality is Yui Kamino.
[00:03:11] Yeah, I got Yui Kamino.
[00:03:14] This is Yui Kamino's first floppy of the night.
[00:03:17] Up next, we have biggest jump in quality where we celebrate series that got better over time.
[00:03:23] Biggest jump in quality.
[00:03:26] And so Jordan, I nominated Yui Kamino.
[00:03:29] Oh!
[00:03:30] Marshall Master Asumi and Saint Muscle.
[00:03:32] So in my opinion, Saint Muscle was amazing from the get.
[00:03:36] I really actually struggled to think of a third one that I was like, I felt improved.
[00:03:41] Yeah.
[00:03:41] Last year was also pretty bad, but this was not a good year for the manga we read.
[00:03:45] The problem is that like the few good ones we read were usually good from the get.
[00:03:52] And then a few of the ones we thought were pretty good just got bad.
[00:03:55] Like one of the ones I have suggested is Green Green Greens, but Green Green Greens was like
[00:03:59] pretty good.
[00:04:00] Like chapter one of Green Green Greens was like not bad, but it's the same thing.
[00:04:03] I couldn't think of a third one.
[00:04:04] So my nominations are Green Green Greens, Yui Kamino and Marshall Master Asumi.
[00:04:10] Yeah.
[00:04:10] So it sounds like we have the opportunity Jordan to do the funniest thing ever, which is to
[00:04:15] give Yui Kamino both biggest drop and biggest jump in quality.
[00:04:18] I think we have to do that, David.
[00:04:20] I think we have to do that.
[00:04:21] Okay.
[00:04:22] So the winner is Yui Kamino.
[00:04:24] Oh my God!
[00:04:28] Yui Kamino just sat down and immediately got back.
[00:04:31] See, actually one of the Kaminos got each award.
[00:04:34] Yui Kamino!
[00:04:35] Oh my God, oh my God!
[00:04:36] This is Yui Kamino's second floppy of the night.
[00:04:40] Next up we have an award that's very close to the Shonen Flop fandom.
[00:04:44] We have Sora of the Year.
[00:04:45] Sora of the Year.
[00:04:48] AKA best character in a bad manga.
[00:04:50] And Jordan, I think this is the first one where I think, do I even need to read the nominees?
[00:04:54] Because I think we know who's going to win, but I'll do it anyway.
[00:04:56] I had Minerva from Mama Yuyu.
[00:04:58] Yeah.
[00:04:58] Animone from Dear Animone.
[00:05:00] And Giant King from St. Muscle.
[00:05:01] Giant King fucking rules, but I have Now from Yui Kamino.
[00:05:06] That was on my shortlist.
[00:05:07] Yeah.
[00:05:07] Minerva from Mama Yuyu.
[00:05:09] And Kisara from Two on Ice, so I thought it was like not a terrible character.
[00:05:13] But no, it's Minerva.
[00:05:14] Yeah.
[00:05:15] It's Minerva.
[00:05:18] God, she's such a great character.
[00:05:22] Oh my God.
[00:05:22] This is Mama Yuyu's first floppy of the night.
[00:05:27] Next up, in contrast to the best character in a bad manga, we just have the flat out worst villain.
[00:05:32] Worst villain.
[00:05:35] And I want to give a thank you to Red Blade for suggesting this as a category.
[00:05:39] So just a heads up, about a month before the floppies, we have a special channel just for considering categories.
[00:05:44] So I appreciate everyone who submitted their ideas for categories.
[00:05:48] Unfortunately, we only have room for so many categories, though, but we appreciate them all.
[00:05:51] David, I found that there was a problem, which was the manga with the worst villains and shit, I could not fucking remember.
[00:05:58] Like, let's talk about it.
[00:05:59] Who are your worst villains?
[00:06:00] So my worst villains are the villains from Dear Animone.
[00:06:04] Yeah.
[00:06:05] Villains from Smokey BB, which I think is just a vague form of capitalism.
[00:06:09] And the evil church guys from Guardian of the Witch.
[00:06:13] The problem is I couldn't remember anything from Smokey BB.
[00:06:17] Exactly.
[00:06:18] My examples are Kyokuto Necromance with that dude who was just like, I'm actually going to resurrect.
[00:06:26] Mom, joke's on you.
[00:06:27] I'm not going to do that.
[00:06:28] I have Shadow Eliminators, who was that guy who showed up at the very end.
[00:06:32] And then I have Hand Apostrophe S, who was like, it was his dad.
[00:06:37] Like his shitty dad.
[00:06:39] Jordan, I gotta be honest with you, big dog.
[00:06:41] I don't give a fuck about any of these and we had zero overlap.
[00:06:43] None of them!
[00:06:44] Do you have anyone that you really care about?
[00:06:46] I don't care about any of them.
[00:06:48] I think it's funniest to give it to Smokey BB, although capitalism is the most evil villain.
[00:06:55] But I also think it's funny that Hands is just his dead Pete dad.
[00:06:59] Yeah.
[00:07:00] And the Yakuza.
[00:07:02] The Yakuza, what an unthreatening villain.
[00:07:04] So I personally give it to Hands.
[00:07:07] You know what? That's totally fine with me.
[00:07:08] It's not like the other ones are memorable.
[00:07:11] That's almost the point of the thing.
[00:07:14] Yeah, that's totally fair.
[00:07:15] So Hands takes it.
[00:07:17] Hands!
[00:07:25] This is Hands.
[00:07:27] First floppy of the night.
[00:07:28] And next up Jordan, this one is very personal to you.
[00:07:31] We have worst series to write a plot summary for.
[00:07:34] Worst series to write a plot summary for.
[00:07:38] Where I nominated Yui Kamiyo, Mama Yu Yu, and Chagcha.
[00:07:42] I have Chagcha, Shadow Eliminators, and Kyokuto Necromance.
[00:07:46] It's Chagcha.
[00:07:47] That is the...
[00:07:48] Well, uh, no, no, it's Chagcha.
[00:07:50] Yeah, Chagcha sucks.
[00:07:52] It's Chagcha.
[00:07:53] I did notice that some people tried to nominate Psych House, but I have to point out that
[00:07:56] was probably the easiest plot summary because you just skipped an entire paragraph of writing.
[00:08:00] Yeah, I...
[00:08:02] There was nothing to write.
[00:08:03] So, yeah.
[00:08:04] It's Chagcha.
[00:08:05] Oh my god, it's Chagcha!
[00:08:07] Crowd's relatively silent for this one.
[00:08:09] Not even the author cares about Chagcha.
[00:08:11] This is Chagcha's first floppy of the night.
[00:08:15] And you know what?
[00:08:15] The fact that we both had different pronunciations of it ties into our next award,
[00:08:20] which is Hardest Title to Say, aka the Aliens Arena Award,
[00:08:23] which is going to be the lasting legacy of that series.
[00:08:25] Even though we also covered a series by that author.
[00:08:28] Yes.
[00:08:29] The Hardest Title to Pronounce
[00:08:32] I had Dear Animone, Yokimono, and Kyokoturo Necromancer, which very much just now in that
[00:08:40] setting shows which one I probably want to give it to.
[00:08:42] So here I have Dear Anemone, Superdog Rillianthal, and Hands?
[00:08:49] Hand apostrophe S.
[00:08:51] Okay, I get where you're coming from, but that's...
[00:08:53] Weird grammar is not weird pronunciation.
[00:08:55] We can say the name Hands fine.
[00:08:57] I guess the problem is that it's the hardest to understand.
[00:09:01] It's not the hardest to say.
[00:09:04] So I have to go on how you pronounce these.
[00:09:07] Yeah, that should just be the award.
[00:09:09] I feel like in the same way that the hardest to write plot summary for is my award,
[00:09:13] the hardest to pronounce is yours.
[00:09:15] Yes.
[00:09:16] So, judging from, again, Kyokoto Necromancer, I think that that is the hardest one for you
[00:09:21] to say, even though I've never heard you pronounce Dear and Emony right.
[00:09:25] Okay, sounds good.
[00:09:26] Which is fitting because it's by the same author as Aliens Arena.
[00:09:29] Yeah.
[00:09:31] Oh my God.
[00:09:32] Okay.
[00:09:32] He definitely brought his prior award on stage.
[00:09:39] This is Kyokobobu Necromancer's first floppy of the night.
[00:09:46] I think that's my favorite shitpost award we do.
[00:09:48] Yeah, that one's really good.
[00:09:50] All right.
[00:09:50] Now let's get into the positives where we have best art.
[00:09:54] Best art.
[00:09:56] So, Jordan, I nominated St. Muscle, Dear Animone in Takama Gahara.
[00:10:01] David, I have Dear and Emony, Mama Yu Yu, and St. Muscle.
[00:10:05] So it's between Dear Animone and St. Muscle.
[00:10:07] Ah, it's hard.
[00:10:08] I feel I can see the St. Muscle, but I also don't want to give best art to St. Muscle.
[00:10:12] So I really...
[00:10:13] I kind of do want to give best art to...
[00:10:15] The entire Dear Animone fell apart because the author spent too much time on the art.
[00:10:19] That's what it seems like, at least.
[00:10:21] The reason I wouldn't give it is because there were multiple characters who looked identical.
[00:10:24] Like when he was just drawing the people.
[00:10:27] Oh, you know what?
[00:10:27] That's fair.
[00:10:28] Okay, fine.
[00:10:29] It's just a double spread ass shot.
[00:10:32] Incredible.
[00:10:32] I feel like the ass shot puts it over the edge.
[00:10:35] All right.
[00:10:35] There you go.
[00:10:36] St. Muscle!
[00:10:37] Oh my God!
[00:10:38] St. Muscle!
[00:10:38] Wow!
[00:10:38] It's the St. Muscle!
[00:10:39] St.
[00:10:40] St.
[00:10:40] St.
[00:10:40] Muscle!
[00:10:41] The crowd is going nuts!
[00:10:43] This is St.
[00:10:44] Muscle's first floppy of the night.
[00:10:47] He actually comes on stage and does...
[00:10:49] Shows his ass.
[00:10:50] Yeah!
[00:10:51] And his lack of balls.
[00:10:52] God, yeah.
[00:10:53] All right.
[00:10:54] Oh, what is the ocaroon?
[00:10:56] Anyway, in contrast, we have Worst Art.
[00:11:00] Worst Art.
[00:11:02] Where I also nominated St. Muscle, Shaggetshot, and Superdog Rillianfall.
[00:11:07] I have to say, I don't think we had any Zontir where it was like you open the page and you're
[00:11:10] like, holy shit, this is bad.
[00:11:12] So...
[00:11:12] St. Muscle's art was too interesting and fun for me to nominate it as Worst Art.
[00:11:17] And we already did the joke with biggest drop and biggest jump, so...
[00:11:20] David, let's be honest, it's Shaggetshot.
[00:11:22] Yeah, Shaggetshot.
[00:11:23] It's Shaggetshot!
[00:11:25] Wait, what were your nominees?
[00:11:26] Oh, my nominees were Wizard Soul, Shaggetshot, and Superdog Rillianfall.
[00:11:30] The problem is that it's like, you're right, we didn't have any obviously horrible art except
[00:11:35] for Shaggetshot.
[00:11:37] Yeah, Superdog and Wizard Soul, I feel they were just, you know, workhorse art.
[00:11:41] They just were like, whatever.
[00:11:43] Oh, oh my god!
[00:11:44] It's Shaggetshot!
[00:11:47] This is Shaggetshot's second floppy of the night.
[00:11:51] Next up, we have Most Ambitious...
[00:11:53] Most Ambitious Series.
[00:11:57] Where we award the series that tried the hardest even if it didn't succeed.
[00:12:00] And so I had Mama Yu Yu, St. Muscle, and Dear Anamone.
[00:12:04] So what I had was Mama Yu Yu, Takamagahara, and St. Muscle.
[00:12:08] Ooh, I feel like I really want to give it to Mama Yu, because you could tell what the offer
[00:12:12] really was trying to do and he just couldn't make it work, but I think if he had tried again
[00:12:16] he could.
[00:12:16] He just had the ingredients, he just didn't have the right recipe, you know?
[00:12:20] The reason I would give it to Mama Yu Yu is the paneling.
[00:12:23] He was really trying to do something interesting and cool with the paneling.
[00:12:27] Like, I haven't seen paneling like that in a very long time, so I want to give it to Mama Yu Yu.
[00:12:32] Alright, Mama Yu Yu takes it.
[00:12:34] Mama, Mama Yu Yu, Yu Yu!
[00:12:38] Oh my god, there's chanting, David.
[00:12:40] Oh my god, this is Mama Yu Yu's second floppy of the night.
[00:12:44] Mama Yu Yu, Mama Yu Yu.
[00:12:46] Next, kind of tying into the most ambitious, we have Crazy's Ending.
[00:12:50] Crazy's Ending.
[00:12:53] Where we respect the series that really just went the most ball to the wall of what they
[00:12:56] were trying to do.
[00:12:57] Big shout out to Stealth Symphony, the Eternus winner of this award.
[00:13:01] Stealth Symphony or, um, Nanohazard.
[00:13:04] Yeah.
[00:13:04] In which all of humanity got annihilated.
[00:13:07] Yeah, that's pretty great too.
[00:13:09] Alright.
[00:13:10] This one was tough because we didn't have anything on that level this year.
[00:13:14] We had at least one or two where we had Kay Necromancer.
[00:13:17] With that absolute...
[00:13:18] Nice, nice.
[00:13:20] That's your way you're gonna do it.
[00:13:22] Yeah.
[00:13:23] I know what I'm about, Jordan.
[00:13:25] Yeah.
[00:13:25] So I had Kay Necromancer, Service Wars, and Takamagahara with that weird ass ending with
[00:13:29] the gender bending change and like power system that's never discussed.
[00:13:33] Oh, right.
[00:13:34] Yeah.
[00:13:34] Mine was Mama Yu Yu, Yoake Mono, and Kyokuto Necromancer, which is the winner.
[00:13:40] Yeah.
[00:13:40] It's Kyokuto Necromancer.
[00:13:41] Yeah, what a fucking...
[00:13:43] That ending fucked me over with the chibi scoring.
[00:13:45] Yeah, I think Yoake Mono, they had the black plague.
[00:13:48] Yeah.
[00:13:49] That's why it's there, but it's Kyokuto Necromancer.
[00:13:51] That's the one that wins.
[00:13:52] I can respect that.
[00:13:53] Yeah.
[00:13:54] Yay!
[00:13:55] Oh my God!
[00:13:56] Blah, blah, blah!
[00:13:57] Yeah, blah, blah!
[00:13:58] This is Kyokuto Necromancer's second floppy of the night.
[00:14:02] Our next award submitted by a member of the community, so a big shout out to Dude Rocks,
[00:14:06] where they suggested worst character design.
[00:14:09] This is the first one with no overlap.
[00:14:10] No, we had a prior one with no overlap.
[00:14:13] We had zero overlap for worst villain.
[00:14:14] This is the second one that we have with no overlap.
[00:14:17] You know what?
[00:14:17] That's fair.
[00:14:18] So I gave Icehead Gil, Chagachah, and Muddy.
[00:14:21] I had Appearance of the Yellow Dragon, Deer Anemone, actually, because there are so many
[00:14:26] characters who look fucking identical, and Yamato Gensuki, because if you look at those character
[00:14:33] designs, they're very generic and edgy.
[00:14:35] Yeah.
[00:14:36] They're like DeviantArt tier character design.
[00:14:39] That's fair.
[00:14:39] Icehead Gil was like, God, that main character's design is so fucking ugly.
[00:14:43] Yeah.
[00:14:43] I think I gotta give it to Icehead Gil.
[00:14:46] I think that that makes sense.
[00:14:47] I just don't feel super strong about my suggestions, and Icehead Gil was pretty bad.
[00:14:56] Yeah.
[00:15:07] I know.
[00:15:07] I think that's the only category nominated for it.
[00:15:09] Yeah.
[00:15:10] Yeah.
[00:15:11] While I might have forgotten about that series, we do have Most Memorable Moment.
[00:15:15] Most Memorable Moment.
[00:15:18] For Jordan, none of these should be a shock.
[00:15:19] I had the squirrel gun from Takamagahara.
[00:15:22] Minerva's entire backstory from Mama Yu Yu.
[00:15:24] Yes.
[00:15:25] Yes.
[00:15:25] And, of course, perhaps the greatest translation of all time, the Risley Bear from Service Wars.
[00:15:30] So, I'm shocked that you don't have this, but the two-page ass spread from Saint Muscle.
[00:15:35] I literally said in the floppies conversation on our Discord, that was my fourth pick.
[00:15:41] Yes.
[00:15:41] I was like, what are the things that's like, I just did a recording with Brad and I talked
[00:15:45] about Minerva's backstory.
[00:15:47] So, I was like, I gotta include that.
[00:15:49] David, it's funny because my next two are the squirrel gun and Minerva.
[00:15:52] For the exact same thing.
[00:15:54] This may be the most competitive category we've had.
[00:15:57] This may be the most competitive because I just feel so strongly about the two-page ass
[00:16:01] spread, even though there is an overlap between the two other ones.
[00:16:06] I will say, so here's the other thing though, is those elements that we're talking about
[00:16:09] are the only things you remember about the series.
[00:16:11] There are other things about Saint Muscle we talk about.
[00:16:14] That's fair.
[00:16:15] So, do you want to reward the fact that these were singular moments that will stick with
[00:16:19] you from having read these series?
[00:16:21] It's Minerva's idol fighting ring.
[00:16:22] I so fucking badly want that to be a song manga.
[00:16:25] It's Minerva's idol fighting ring because that is better than the rest of the manga.
[00:16:29] That is a better concept for the manga.
[00:16:32] It's just a cool idea.
[00:16:34] Yeah.
[00:16:34] And it's also an amazingly executed joke because it is the last panel of the page where she's
[00:16:40] like, well, you know, idols as you know, and then page turn are in fighting.
[00:16:45] And it's like, so fuck.
[00:16:48] I really love that part of this.
[00:16:51] I'm so glad that she was.
[00:16:53] Thank you for adding that character to that series.
[00:16:56] The character brought Mama Yu Yu up a letter grade.
[00:16:59] Yeah, it really did.
[00:17:02] Mama Yu Yu.
[00:17:04] Mama Yu Yu.
[00:17:05] This is Mama Yu Yu's third floppy of the night.
[00:17:09] Oh my God, it's Mama Yu Yu.
[00:17:12] And in contrast to things that will stick with us long after reading, we have most forgettable
[00:17:17] series.
[00:17:19] Most forgettable series.
[00:17:22] Where Jordan, some of these I was like, oh, fuck, I don't.
[00:17:25] What I told myself was, can I name three things about this series in any series I could not
[00:17:29] do?
[00:17:30] I nominated for this award.
[00:17:32] So Jordan, I don't think these are a shocker or maybe they are because you probably don't
[00:17:35] remember them.
[00:17:35] I nominated Shadow Eliminators, which is not the same series as K Necromancer.
[00:17:40] Full Drive and Yamato Gensuki, where I honestly do not remember the difference between Yamato
[00:17:45] Gensuki and Yokomono unless I check.
[00:17:48] Honestly, same.
[00:17:49] But I have hands, appearance of the yellow dragon and Yamato Gensuki, but I'm questioning
[00:17:54] hands now.
[00:17:55] And the answer is Yamato Gensuki.
[00:17:57] Because you're right, David.
[00:17:59] I can't think of the difference between Yamato Gensuki and specifically Yokomono unless
[00:18:04] I look it up.
[00:18:05] It's the same thing.
[00:18:07] So there you go.
[00:18:10] Yokomono.
[00:18:10] Yamato Gensuki.
[00:18:11] La la la.
[00:18:12] This is Yamato Gensuki's first floppy of the night.
[00:18:15] And next, this one I think we might have been alluding to just a little bit, but let's
[00:18:18] get into it.
[00:18:19] It's the flop offer you'd like to see try again.
[00:18:22] Flop author you'd like to see try again.
[00:18:26] Maybe they didn't do so good this time, but you know what?
[00:18:28] They definitely have that dog in them for the next series they're doing.
[00:18:31] Yeah.
[00:18:31] Jordan, I nominated Matsumi Rin, who created Dear Animone.
[00:18:34] Terasaka Kento, Green Green Greens.
[00:18:36] And the War for Manga offer that's hardest for me to say is Hayashi Yoshihiko from Mama Yu Yu.
[00:18:41] Yes.
[00:18:42] And mine are Terasaka Kento of Green Green Greens, who is an honorable mention for most improved
[00:18:48] just in general because holy shit.
[00:18:51] Crazy.
[00:18:52] Hatamune Tsurun of Service Wars because like Service Wars didn't make it.
[00:18:57] Mitana Security didn't make it, but I enjoyed both series.
[00:19:00] And my last one is Hayashi Yoshihiko of Mama Yu Yu, which listener that is how you say that name.
[00:19:07] So it's between Mama Yu Yu and Green Green Greens.
[00:19:10] I think it's Green Green Greens.
[00:19:11] Yeah, I think like Green Greens wasn't a flop.
[00:19:13] The author's next series is probably going to also be very good.
[00:19:16] But Mama Yu Yu, we're just kind of rooting for him to have learned his lessons from the series.
[00:19:19] Judging by how much this guy is improving, if he keeps up this fucking trajectory,
[00:19:25] I think he's going to like knock it out of the park next time.
[00:19:28] And so the winner.
[00:19:29] Yeah. Green Green Greens, Terasaka.
[00:19:31] First of the night.
[00:19:35] Green Green Green Green Green Green Green Green Green Green Green.
[00:19:37] This is Terasaka Kento's first floppy of the night.
[00:19:41] Green Green Green Green.
[00:19:43] Speech. Speech.
[00:19:44] Oh, thank you so much.
[00:19:45] Thank you.
[00:19:45] And always like blah blah blah.
[00:19:47] Ravula's being really cute under the bed chewing.
[00:19:49] But she was chewing on something.
[00:19:50] So she was being loud dog.
[00:19:51] It's a shame we don't have an award for best dog.
[00:19:54] So our next award is best dog.
[00:19:56] Best dog.
[00:19:58] And my nominees were Ravioli, Ravioli and Ravioli.
[00:20:01] David, again, we disagree because mine are Ravioli, Ravioli, Ravioli.
[00:20:05] Give me the formula.
[00:20:06] The formula award goes to Ravioli.
[00:20:08] Woof, woof, woof.
[00:20:09] This is Ravioli's first floppy of the night.
[00:20:12] It's the only one she's nominated for.
[00:20:14] It is arguably the most important one.
[00:20:16] Yes.
[00:20:17] But actually, though, we are into the community section of the award.
[00:20:21] So let's get into actually I lied.
[00:20:22] Well, kind of.
[00:20:23] I don't even know what they call the section.
[00:20:24] Best host six word summary.
[00:20:26] Best six word summary from a host.
[00:20:29] So as tradition, I nominate three of Jordan's and Jordan nominates three of mine.
[00:20:34] And then I say which of his three was ultimately my favorite.
[00:20:37] Jordan, for you, I said from Marshall Master Assumi, these are Caslow's hierarchy of needs.
[00:20:41] Wizard's soul.
[00:20:42] You've activated my trap card, trauma and from green, green, greens from beast child to golf adult.
[00:20:47] Mine were for Guardian of the Witch.
[00:20:50] Man, imagine if England was real.
[00:20:52] Yoakamono.
[00:20:53] Holy shit.
[00:20:54] Fifty motherfucking wolves.
[00:20:55] Goddamn.
[00:20:56] And appearance of the yellow dragon.
[00:20:57] Yellow drag on these nuts.
[00:21:01] Jordan, I think that the Caslow's hierarchy of needs is so clever.
[00:21:05] I wish I had thought of that.
[00:21:06] I think you helped with that one, though, because it's it's hierarchy of knees.
[00:21:10] Oh, it does say David helped.
[00:21:12] I forgot it cut off.
[00:21:13] Yeah, David.
[00:21:14] Great.
[00:21:14] No, you can't.
[00:21:16] You can't pick one that you helped with.
[00:21:18] All right.
[00:21:19] I'll go with from beast child to golf adult.
[00:21:22] Okay.
[00:21:23] Jordan doesn't want to share the glory.
[00:21:25] No.
[00:21:26] All right.
[00:21:26] And then, David, it's gotta be holy shit.
[00:21:28] Fifty motherfucking wolves.
[00:21:30] Goddamn for Yoakamono.
[00:21:31] I couldn't even remember the context.
[00:21:34] Yeah, I don't remember.
[00:21:34] One for most forgettable series, Jordan.
[00:21:37] So that's true.
[00:21:39] Oh, my God.
[00:21:40] All right.
[00:21:41] So there's not really a series we can attribute that to.
[00:21:43] Well, hold on.
[00:21:44] Boo!
[00:21:48] This is David and Jordan's first floppy of the night.
[00:21:51] Oh, my God.
[00:21:52] Stop throwing stuff at us.
[00:21:53] Jesus Christ, guys.
[00:21:55] I know where all of you live.
[00:21:56] We know who you are.
[00:21:58] Stop throwing things at us.
[00:21:59] Trafalgar.
[00:22:00] What the fuck?
[00:22:01] That hit me in the head.
[00:22:02] All right.
[00:22:03] Speaking of community members, let's get into best community six word summary.
[00:22:06] The best six word summary from our community.
[00:22:12] So a big thank you to everyone who's been submitting.
[00:22:14] I actually have a short list of 15 of my favorites that I'll post on the Patreon.
[00:22:18] And I think we had like over 150 I had to go through.
[00:22:21] So that was a lot of fun.
[00:22:22] And as always, you can drop them in the discord.
[00:22:24] We always announce it when it's time for six word summary.
[00:22:26] So my first one is from Mama Yu Yu from Dackerson.
[00:22:29] Plot big minus geography.
[00:22:30] Big plus.
[00:22:31] Hands.
[00:22:31] Diego said the Yakuza will never be balling.
[00:22:35] And Psych House Chicken Warlord said never got to its bucket list.
[00:22:38] One thing I do want to know is I tried to only it.
[00:22:41] There were so many good ones.
[00:22:42] I tried to only nominate ones that literally could only be said as a joke for that particular
[00:22:46] series.
[00:22:46] So people had some really great evergreen jokes.
[00:22:49] But if you're wondering why I didn't include it, it was just I wanted to reward things that
[00:22:52] only could be said about that series.
[00:22:54] Yeah.
[00:22:55] Mine were for Service Wars by Riel.
[00:22:58] What do your eggplant eyes see?
[00:22:59] Shadow Eliminators by Funky Act 4.
[00:23:02] They really did eliminate those shadows.
[00:23:05] Yeah.
[00:23:05] And for full drive, Riel again.
[00:23:07] I don't understand table tennis rules.
[00:23:10] So I have to say I really, really was impressed by Dackerson's plot big minus geography big
[00:23:16] plus that that was like astoundingly clever because remember the world the setting is set
[00:23:20] in is shaped like a giant cross.
[00:23:22] I completely forgot that.
[00:23:23] Okay.
[00:23:24] Okay.
[00:23:24] I like that.
[00:23:25] I also like the Yakuza will never be balling.
[00:23:28] Okay.
[00:23:29] So out of the two then.
[00:23:30] I forgot that the world was shaped like a plus.
[00:23:33] So I think I have to give it to Dackerson.
[00:23:36] Big thank you, Dackerson, for all of your awesome six word summaries.
[00:23:39] Dackerson has actually provided a speech that we are going to read off now.
[00:23:42] Thanks so much for selecting my six word summary.
[00:23:45] Over the past year, I've been trying to come up with a six word summary for each manga covered
[00:23:49] on the show along with everyone else.
[00:23:51] And it's been a lot of fun.
[00:23:52] Though I feel a little bad for calling the plot to Mama Yu Yu a big minus.
[00:23:56] It wasn't that bad, but it was the best way to make the joke work.
[00:23:59] Happy holidays and new year to all the floppers out there.
[00:24:04] Dackerson.
[00:24:05] Dackerson.
[00:24:06] Dackerson.
[00:24:07] Dackerson.
[00:24:07] Dackerson.
[00:24:08] Dackerson.
[00:24:08] This is Dackerson's first and unfortunately probably only floppy of the night.
[00:24:14] All right.
[00:24:14] Speaking of six word summaries, Tucker always provides a banger.
[00:24:17] Tucker, thank you so much for all of your hard work on the show.
[00:24:20] Best six word summary from Tucker.
[00:24:23] So Jordan, I nominated for St. Muscle.
[00:24:25] By God, look at that vascularity.
[00:24:28] Marshall Master Assumi turns out violence is the answer and from Psych House, it never goes
[00:24:32] beyond the pale.
[00:24:33] You know, David, I think that Marshall Masters Assumi should be nominated as like an honorable
[00:24:38] measure for hardest to say because I keep wanting to call it Marshall Mathers Assumi.
[00:24:43] And yet I have no issues.
[00:24:45] Yeah.
[00:24:45] Interesting.
[00:24:46] Interesting liberals.
[00:24:47] Mine were Service Wars, serving continuous reader satisfaction and excellence.
[00:24:53] And that is excellence with egg in it.
[00:24:55] A guardian of the witch relook a business transaction in comic form and wizard soul, the heart of
[00:25:01] the cards suffering.
[00:25:03] I like, look at that vascularity.
[00:25:07] It works for me.
[00:25:08] Bago.
[00:25:09] All right, man.
[00:25:10] And so Tucker, thank you so much for so many great six words on reason or everything else.
[00:25:14] And Tucker has provided us a clip of their speech that we're going to play now.
[00:25:17] By God, this is an honor.
[00:25:19] It's been a pleasure, my friends.
[00:25:21] Another floppy year of trash manga.
[00:25:24] A couple hidden gems as well.
[00:25:26] Extra hidden and extra stinky garbage.
[00:25:31] Sorry, no more of that voice.
[00:25:33] As always, I appreciate the award.
[00:25:35] However, this year I have beef.
[00:25:37] Y'all chose my Bago summary.
[00:25:40] It was a good one.
[00:25:40] Sure.
[00:25:41] However, my personal favorite was Service Wars, serving continuous reader satisfaction
[00:25:46] and egg-sillence.
[00:25:48] David didn't enunciate that eggplant pun.
[00:25:50] Well, there's no accounting for taste.
[00:25:52] I'll leave with one final summary.
[00:25:54] What was this year's manga highlight?
[00:25:56] Green, green, green, green, green, green, greens.
[00:25:58] Thanks for being a great audience.
[00:26:00] Tucker, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker.
[00:26:03] This is Tucker's first floppy of the night.
[00:26:06] And probably only.
[00:26:07] Well, you never know.
[00:26:08] That's true.
[00:26:09] And of course, along with Tucker, we have our wonderful manga historian Max E.B.
[00:26:13] who is providing us some really awesome facts.
[00:26:16] Coolest fact from Max E.B.
[00:26:20] So I'm going to get into it from SuperDogRillionFall.
[00:26:24] SuperSpaceCat's favorite food is not curry.
[00:26:26] It's curry as in cucumber.
[00:26:27] That's why it looks like a fucking cucumber.
[00:26:29] God damn it, you translators.
[00:26:30] See me after you.
[00:26:31] Max E.B. was so pissed about this.
[00:26:33] Green, green, greens.
[00:26:34] The real life Masters Tournament took place during the run of the manga.
[00:26:37] Imagine Editorial took this into consideration when choosing to serialize it.
[00:26:40] So essentially, it had the same thing that happened with Beast Children, where they canceled
[00:26:44] it after the call term ended.
[00:26:46] They did it again!
[00:26:47] And from Psych House.
[00:26:48] The author came up with 50 titles for the series, had a designer make 20 logos in a 3D model
[00:26:54] of the house with schematics.
[00:26:55] A ton of which was never actually used in the series.
[00:26:59] I had the same one for SuperDogRillionFall and Green, Green, Greens.
[00:27:02] My other one is Yoakamono, which is, it's quite a bold move to make Sakamoto Ryoma the villain.
[00:27:08] Like yes, he is an enemy of the Shinsengumi in that they hunted him a lot and were ultimately
[00:27:12] deemed responsible for his assassination.
[00:27:14] And Kondo Isami was executed as a result.
[00:27:17] But he dreamt of democracy, of removing the caste system and ending feudalism and is arguably
[00:27:23] romanticized as an absolute hero in Japan.
[00:27:25] I thought that was interesting because it was like genuine Japanese history.
[00:27:28] But the answer is SuperDogRillionFall just because Max CB got so mad about that.
[00:27:33] Hold on, Jordan.
[00:27:33] I think the fact that the thing about GangCanceler right after his sports tournament happening
[00:27:37] twice to this author is pretty fucking crazy.
[00:27:40] You know what?
[00:27:41] You're right, actually.
[00:27:42] Yeah.
[00:27:43] The fact itself is amazing.
[00:27:45] I just got really happy about how mad Max CB got.
[00:27:48] Yeah, sorry.
[00:27:48] I was like, sorry buddy, as much as I want you to agree with me.
[00:27:51] Alright, Max CB, thank you so much.
[00:27:53] Max, provide us an audio clip of their acceptance speech that we're going to play right now.
[00:27:57] Hello ShonenFlop and ShonenFlop audience.
[00:27:59] This is just a quick speech to thank people for deciding that my best fact was about Green Green
[00:28:05] Greens and how it was once again serialized during a major sporting tournament as Beast
[00:28:10] Children was before it.
[00:28:12] Which, yes, does mean we can probably expect Kento Terasaka, this podcast's favorite mangaka,
[00:28:17] to return next time there is some sort of semi-large tournament for a slightly niche but not actually
[00:28:24] that niche sport.
[00:28:25] I'm actually really glad that this is the fact that won because the year before, 2023,
[00:28:30] I think the only sports series we did was literally a rerun of Beast Children and this year was a
[00:28:35] victory for me specifically in that I got the show to cover six sporting series.
[00:28:40] Some of those were, of course, just the natural process of sports series getting cancelled in a magazine
[00:28:45] that year but I think it's still very good that we managed to go and cover more.
[00:28:50] I feel like it's one of the genres that does not get covered enough in manga because, frankly,
[00:28:54] manga readers are all gross little shut-ins that need to get out and get a life.
[00:28:58] And so it's been very fulfilling to actually touch grass a little bit with all of you
[00:29:02] and I think this fact being so positively received is indicative of that.
[00:29:07] Thank you again for another year of enjoying my facts on the show and fuck off.
[00:29:13] No, that's not good.
[00:29:15] I love you all. Bye.
[00:29:17] Maxi B. Maxi B. Maxi B.
[00:29:21] This is Maxi B's first sloppy of the night.
[00:29:24] And finally, our final production award goes for best cover art.
[00:29:29] Best episode cover art.
[00:29:32] So, Murr drew all of them this year so big shout out to Murr for all of her fantastic work.
[00:29:37] So, Jordan, what I had to do is I went through all of them and I just kept deleting and deleting
[00:29:40] and deleting the pictures until I got down to three but it was not easy.
[00:29:44] Until you got to Smokey B.B.?
[00:29:45] Maybe.
[00:29:46] So my nominees though were Wizard Soul for the Jason Minesculptor parody.
[00:29:49] Smoky B.B., which was probably the stupidest cover art idea of Smoky B.B. and the Bandit.
[00:29:55] And Guardian of the Witch Relic, which was a Legend of Zelda parody that Jordan fought of.
[00:29:58] I only have Smoky B.B.
[00:30:00] And the winner is...
[00:30:02] Smoky B.B.
[00:30:03] You know what? I'm happy to take this award because it was my idea.
[00:30:06] It is, uh, it's Smoky B.B. I'm sorry. That one's just so good.
[00:30:10] Somehow I was completely sober while I wrote that.
[00:30:12] It's so stupid, but it works.
[00:30:14] Thank you so much, Murr, for your fantastic work.
[00:30:16] Murr has provided us a speech that we're going to read off right now.
[00:30:18] I am very grateful to be working with you guys.
[00:30:21] Each and every art is a joy to work on.
[00:30:23] I crack up every time you send the reference images over.
[00:30:26] Thank you for the laughs and opportunities.
[00:30:28] You guys are the best.
[00:30:29] I wish consistent success for this podcast and a great 2025 to everyone.
[00:30:34] Murr, Murr, Murr, Murr, Murr.
[00:30:36] This is Murr Lyle's first floppy of the night.
[00:30:39] Murr, Murr, Murr, Murr, Murr.
[00:30:41] Now let's get into Patreon town just for one award.
[00:30:44] So don't stress it too much if you're not a patron. We still love you.
[00:30:46] This award goes to best patron exclusive episode.
[00:30:50] Best patron exclusive episode.
[00:30:54] And my nominees are get a Robo go featuring comic book creators.
[00:30:57] Xander cannon, which is the second time his name is mentioned on the episode.
[00:31:01] Each of those families deadly sins part one featuring Rem from anime out of context.
[00:31:05] I really hope they do.
[00:31:06] They cover to tackle peevees, peevees, that series original sin and cheat slayer featuring Brad,
[00:31:12] a.k.
[00:31:12] Isakai sensei from the anime podcast or reincarnation podcast.
[00:31:15] How about you, Jordan?
[00:31:16] Mine are get a Robo go featuring Xander cannon.
[00:31:19] I have one that apparently doesn't count because it came out after we're recording this.
[00:31:24] We just pretend we have the same list.
[00:31:25] We just have the same list then.
[00:31:27] I got to give it to get a Robo go personally.
[00:31:30] Sure.
[00:31:30] That's fine.
[00:31:31] Yeah.
[00:31:31] Get a Robo go.
[00:31:33] Xander cannon is a fucking legend.
[00:31:34] Thank you for coming to book club.
[00:31:35] And Xander cannon has provided us an audio clip that we're going to play right now.
[00:31:38] Hey, all you shonen floppers out there.
[00:31:40] This is Xander cannon.
[00:31:41] And I am so thankful to have received this great honor for best Patreon episode.
[00:31:46] I am so happy to have gone on the show and flop podcast two times.
[00:31:50] And it has certainly broadened my experience in terms of the world of manga.
[00:31:54] Keep reading those terrible comics and some of the good ones.
[00:31:58] Xander, Xander, Xander cannon fire that cannon fire that cannon.
[00:32:03] Imagine if we can send him a physical award he put next to his Eisner award.
[00:32:08] Oh my God.
[00:32:09] This is Xander cannons first floppy of the night.
[00:32:13] Next up, we're getting into the big, big awards where we have best series, best series.
[00:32:20] So Jordan, we read a lot of shit, but sometimes we read something where I say, Hey, I'm glad
[00:32:23] I read it and just what's the point?
[00:32:27] It's I nominate green, green, greens, which obviously wins.
[00:32:29] It's green, green, greens.
[00:32:31] But I also nominate service wars and martial master assuming.
[00:32:33] How about you Jordan?
[00:32:34] What were your other two nominees?
[00:32:36] I have green, green, greens, mommy, you and martial master assuming it's green, green, greens.
[00:32:40] Interesting.
[00:32:40] Cause mama, you, we call the flop.
[00:32:42] Yeah, actually I want to swap mama for service wars, but it's, it's green, green, green, green.
[00:32:46] Green, green wins.
[00:32:47] It doesn't matter.
[00:32:48] It doesn't fucking matter.
[00:32:49] It's green, green, green.
[00:32:53] Literally.
[00:32:53] No one should unironically read that series.
[00:32:55] It's very good.
[00:32:55] It's a, it's a good series.
[00:32:57] Oh my God.
[00:32:58] It's green, green, greens.
[00:32:59] Woo.
[00:33:00] Green, green, green.
[00:33:03] This is green, green, greens.
[00:33:05] Second win of the night.
[00:33:06] Now things get competitive when we talk about the worst series we read.
[00:33:10] Worst series.
[00:33:14] Where I nominated Chagacha, appearance of the yellow dragon in Yamato Gensuki.
[00:33:19] I have hands Chagacha and appearance of the yellow dragon.
[00:33:23] Okay.
[00:33:23] So it's between appearance and Chagacha.
[00:33:25] It's, it's Chagacha.
[00:33:27] Yeah, it's Chagacha.
[00:33:27] Right?
[00:33:27] It's Chagacha.
[00:33:29] Chagacha is such a mess to read.
[00:33:32] Like I looked at it again and I just looked at one page and oh my God, it's bad.
[00:33:37] Like obviously so.
[00:33:40] Chagacha.
[00:33:41] Boo.
[00:33:42] Chagacha.
[00:33:42] Boo.
[00:33:44] Boo.
[00:33:44] Boo.
[00:33:44] You stink.
[00:33:45] This is Chagacha's third floppy of the night.
[00:33:48] Hey, watch those tomatoes.
[00:33:50] Watch those tomatoes.
[00:33:51] Okay.
[00:33:51] I'm not going to get sued because you threw a tomato and hurt somebody.
[00:33:54] Oh, Jordan.
[00:33:55] All right.
[00:33:55] And then Jordan, another one of my favorite awards is best worst series, which is series
[00:33:59] as not good.
[00:34:00] It's still fun to read.
[00:34:01] Best worst series.
[00:34:05] My nominees were St. Muscle, which was handmade for this award.
[00:34:08] Takamakihara.
[00:34:09] And hands.
[00:34:09] So mine were St. Muscle, St. Muscle and St. Muscle.
[00:34:14] Not even going to play games.
[00:34:15] Clearly St. Muscle.
[00:34:16] It's St. Muscle.
[00:34:17] It's St. Muscle.
[00:34:18] Because St. Muscle bad in the same way that JoJo part one is where it's just like,
[00:34:23] it's so insane that like, yeah, you could, I don't know if you can call it that good,
[00:34:28] but like, you're glad you read it.
[00:34:30] You gotta do it for the culture.
[00:34:31] So glad we had, so glad Casey Green was the guest on that.
[00:34:35] I think it rules, but it's also, I don't know if I could call it good.
[00:34:41] Oh my God, it's St. Muscle!
[00:34:43] St. Muscle!
[00:34:44] I worship you, St. Muscle!
[00:34:46] This is St. Muscle's second award of the night.
[00:34:52] All right.
[00:34:53] And Jordan, our next award is an award about sometimes we have some discussion left on the
[00:34:57] table or some things have changed.
[00:34:59] So this is series we most want to revisit.
[00:35:02] Series we most want to revisit.
[00:35:05] And I nominated Yui Camillo because we definitely ran out of time talking about that series.
[00:35:10] Yeah.
[00:35:10] Service Wars because I didn't get to talk about it.
[00:35:13] And Mama Yuyu because apparently there's an epilogue that changes something.
[00:35:16] So we definitely want to go check that out.
[00:35:17] Mine were Service Wars because you didn't get to talk about it.
[00:35:21] And St. Muscle because I just want to revisit St. Muscle.
[00:35:25] I just want to, I just want to look at that one again.
[00:35:26] And I have Muddy, but actually you make a good point about Yui Camillo in that
[00:35:30] I feel like we had a lot more to say about that.
[00:35:33] Go ahead.
[00:35:33] Yeah.
[00:35:34] So Jordan, between Yui Camillo and Service Wars, is it more we left stuff on the table or you
[00:35:38] just want to talk to me about Service Wars?
[00:35:40] Uh, it's Yui Camillo.
[00:35:42] Yeah.
[00:35:42] We left a lot on the table with Yui Camillo.
[00:35:44] Yeah.
[00:35:44] We had probably north 30 to 40 minutes of discussion on that series if we had let it go.
[00:35:48] But unfortunately we only have so much time to record.
[00:35:50] Yeah.
[00:35:50] Yui Camillo's won a lot of awards tonight.
[00:35:52] Yui Camillo is kind of sweeping.
[00:35:55] Oh my.
[00:35:59] This is Yui Camillo's third lobby of the night.
[00:36:06] And now we have an award.
[00:36:08] We want to celebrate our fantastic guests.
[00:36:10] So we are talking about what is the guest that we most want to see come back?
[00:36:13] Guest we would most like to return.
[00:36:16] And I feel like this is kind of best director versus best picture.
[00:36:19] How it's like very hard to know what the over the difference between these two awards
[00:36:22] is.
[00:36:23] But we'll try our best.
[00:36:24] This is celebrating guests that we think are fantastic and we know that they have a lot
[00:36:27] to say on a lot of topics and we really want to bring them back.
[00:36:29] I nominated Finn K who was on Dear Animone, David Evelyn who was on Mama Yui, and Carly
[00:36:34] Mazur who was on Muddy.
[00:36:36] Mine were Finn K from Dear Animone, Carly Janine Mazur from Muddy, and KC Green on St. Muscle.
[00:36:43] So we both overlap with Finn K.
[00:36:45] Finn K was a really fun guest and also since they work on the manga that's like a very cool
[00:36:49] detail about having them back.
[00:36:51] I feel like we had such great chemistry with Finn.
[00:36:53] Finn K we really appreciate it.
[00:36:55] It was so awesome to have you on the show.
[00:36:57] You are welcome back anytime and we'll definitely try and make that happen next time that you're
[00:37:00] working on a series that got canceled.
[00:37:02] And Finn has been kind enough to send us a few words that they'd like us to read.
[00:37:05] Hi everyone.
[00:37:06] Thanks so much for voting for me.
[00:37:07] I've been a Shonen Flop fan since the beginning of 2024, so I'm very grateful to be in a position
[00:37:12] to have been a guest on this amazing podcast.
[00:37:14] Being a part of it and seeing the feedback was such a fun experience.
[00:37:17] Thank you David and Jordan for letting me yap with you guys.
[00:37:19] And thank you to everyone for listening.
[00:37:21] I want my series to last of course, but in a weird way I hope I get to talk about failed
[00:37:25] manga again with you and everyone in the future.
[00:37:27] So thank you so much, but I also want to say thank you to all of our super fantastic guests
[00:37:30] as well.
[00:37:36] This is Finn pays first and you know, only floppy, but still it's a, it's a big flop.
[00:37:42] I also want to say that for the record, it didn't nominate Dylan cause he's already come
[00:37:44] back.
[00:37:45] Cause he's been on two.
[00:37:46] Yes.
[00:37:46] I mean, he's the editor.
[00:37:49] Speaking of Dylan though, we actually have an award just for Dylan called the Dylan's
[00:37:53] editor choice award, where Dylan is actually going to step in and say, what was their favorite
[00:37:58] episode of the year and speak a few words.
[00:38:00] Why?
[00:38:00] And it'll be really funny if it was one of the two episodes they were on.
[00:38:03] Not to tune my own horn, but I am going to give the editor's choice award to our episode
[00:38:07] on super dog Rillianthal.
[00:38:10] Not because of my stellar as always performance, but because Tessa stepped in with such unexpected
[00:38:15] linguistics knowledge and answered some of our questions about why exactly the manga
[00:38:19] had such a weird name in the first place and how it actually related to the story of the
[00:38:24] character of Rillianthal.
[00:38:27] Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan.
[00:38:29] This is Dylan's only floppy.
[00:38:31] Yeah.
[00:38:31] We don't know what episode it was because he's inserting it after we recorded.
[00:38:35] Yeah.
[00:38:36] Dylan, thank you again so much for all of your hard work.
[00:38:38] The show would not be the same without you.
[00:38:39] And then finally, Jordan, it's time.
[00:38:40] Are you ready?
[00:38:41] Yeah.
[00:38:41] Episode of the year.
[00:38:43] Episode of the year.
[00:38:45] Episode of the year.
[00:38:45] Who is taking the mega floppy home with them?
[00:38:48] The biggest floppy, the golden.
[00:38:51] Well, they're all golden.
[00:38:52] The platinum floppy.
[00:38:53] God.
[00:38:54] All right.
[00:38:55] I nominated Mama UU featuring David Evelyn, St. Muscle featuring Casey Green and Green Green
[00:38:59] Green's featuring Bren Bren.
[00:39:01] I had Deer and Emony featuring Thin K, St. Muscle featuring Casey Green and Chogacha featuring
[00:39:06] Amber.
[00:39:07] So I guess the overlap is St. Muscle.
[00:39:09] Gotta give it to Casey Green here.
[00:39:11] It was just, I want to say keynote.
[00:39:12] It was just perfect.
[00:39:13] It was the perfect series to have Casey Green talk about.
[00:39:16] Maxie B, thank you for saving that.
[00:39:17] Just the energy, the topic matter.
[00:39:19] It was really, ironically, it was the whole package.
[00:39:22] Yeah.
[00:39:23] Cause he didn't have a package.
[00:39:25] That man has no dick.
[00:39:26] That's right.
[00:39:27] That man has no dick.
[00:39:29] All right.
[00:39:29] So Casey Green, thank you so much for everything.
[00:39:32] Casey Green has provided us an audio clip to play.
[00:39:34] Hello.
[00:39:35] This is Casey Green.
[00:39:36] And I'm here to thank Shonen Flop for voting my episode, St. Muscle, best episode of the
[00:39:42] year.
[00:39:42] That's really kind of you guys.
[00:39:43] Thank you.
[00:39:44] Have a happy holiday and stay warm, everyone.
[00:39:46] Stay warm with your muscles.
[00:39:48] Thank you so much.
[00:39:50] Casey, Casey, Casey, Casey, Casey.
[00:39:53] This is Casey Green's only floppy of the night because that's the last floppy.
[00:39:57] So it's pretty clear that he can't win another one.
[00:40:00] Yes.
[00:40:01] Well, Jordan, that was a lot of fun.
[00:40:02] You definitely win the award for best co-host.
[00:40:05] Thank you, David.
[00:40:06] And you also win the award for best co-host.

[00:42:23] Well, that's all for me, Jordan.
[00:42:25] How about you?
[00:42:26] Yes!
[00:42:26] Thank you so much, everybody!
[00:42:28] This has been the Floppy's-
[00:42:30] Ow!
[00:42:31] Ow!
[00:42:31] Ow!
[00:42:32] Ow!
[00:42:32] Ow!
[00:42:33] Ow!
[00:42:33] Ow!
