Welcome to Shonen Flop Chibi, a first impressions mini episode where we talk about the first chapter of the series we'll be covering in depth next week. I'm Jordan and with me today, as usual is my co-host, David. Say hi, David.

David  0:13
Hi, David.

Jordan  0:14
What series are we covering this week, David?

David  0:16
So we actually have our first ever sponsor, where we are sponsored by Monster Energy and we are talking about the Monster Tamer Girls. [imitates a trumpet]

Jordan  0:24
Oh, hell yeah! Getting that big energy drink money, you know. Like, they call it gamer fuel. This is tamer fuel, baby.

David  0:32
I thought you were gonna say tainter fuel. I was like powered purely by butthole.

Jordan  0:35
[laughs] You know what, David? You said-you said that.

David  0:39
I mean, Bokke-san I could see being powered by butthole because that series was shit.

Jordan  0:42
Yeah, no, I mean, that makes sense. But I don't know if this one is, you know? Uhh...

David  0:47
Yeah, yeah, that's very true. Do you want to tell the audience a little bit about, like, the nature of the series?

Jordan  0:51
Yeah, so this is the, uhh, the English translation is called the Monster Tamer Girls. The Japanese name is Kaiju no Shiiku Iin which I tried looking up. It seems to translate to, uh, the Tamer Commitees Monster or the Monster of the Tamer Committee,--

David  1:10
Mmhm.

Jordan  1:11
--which I think that's a cute title considering what that means.

David  1:14
[laughs] Imagine this was in the Digimon Tamers universe.

Jordan  1:16
Oh, I-I definitely did-was thinking of Digimon Tamers when--

David  1:19
Yeah.

Jordan  1:19
--I saw the title on the--

David  1:20
One of the girls goes home and her dad starts hitting her which is still really fucking weird that Digimon Tamers had that as a plot point.

Jordan  1:25
Oh my god.

David  1:26
Right?

Jordan  1:26
I don't know if I remembered that that happened in Digimon Tamers.

David  1:29
They edited it  out, I think, of the dub with this-the girl is--

Jordan  1:31
Like, that's why...

David  1:31
--beaten by her dad.

Jordan  1:32
Yeah, fuck, that was Jerry, wasn't it?

David  1:35
Yeah.

Jordan  1:35
That sh-that show was dark as fuck and kicked ass. But yeah, so this, uh, this went for 13 chapters over two volumes and was created by Shimazaki Mujirushi. I think this guy did some other stuff?

David  1:49
He actually has done, like, eight other projects, but maybe-- [laughs]

Jordan  1:52
We'll talk about it on the main episode.

David  1:53
Yeah, yeah. we'll talk about-that's what, yeah. It's almost like this is a mini version of a full episode, Jordan.

Jordan  1:57
That'd be Shonen Flop mini though. This is chibi, and in chibi, we go to the fucking plot summary. [David laughs] Are you ready?

David  2:04
Yeah, I always-I was born ready, but...

Jordan  2:06
Okay, then get ready for this shit because Ion Hidaka and Sora Misumaru are two young students attending the Tatara Girls Academy, a school known for its monster taming curriculum. As their first task on the monster taming committee, they must take care of the monster living in the woods behind the school by cleaning it and changing its water, like a horse. Sora flunked out of the taming track, but joined the club because she loves monsters while Ion hates monsters, but was saved from a monster by a tamer girl and wants to be as cool as her. [David laughs] The monster takes a liking to them and lets them ride on its head around a destroyed city while the two talk about how it used to be a thriving metropolis before they were born. Sora then convinces Ion to sing to the monster which seems to activate something called a, quote unquote, "biotorrent" that makes the cherry blossoms bloom.

David  3:00
Mmhm.

Jordan  3:00
The head of the committee then comes by to check on them only to find the two girls fast asleep on the monsters snout. You know something? I don't think I said monster enough during that--

David  3:10
Noo.

Jordan  3:10
--plot summary. The monster, monster, monster. There you go. Let me say it a few more times. [David laughs] Monster, monster.

David  3:15
Yeah, if you say it too many times then Newt Gingrich will actually pop out of your mirror and, uh, try and lower your taxes.

Jordan  3:20
Damn, that's a real monster right there. Am I right, folks?

David  3:24
Yeah, fuck the system.

Jordan  3:25
Yeah. Anyway, so let's go into first impressions. David, what did you think?

David  3:31
This chapter was just some pure cotton candy. I feel like this is, like, an honorary, like, friend of Magu-chan. Nothing bad happened. Well, they alluded to an apocalypse but, you know, what-what else is new? But yeah, it was just nice seeing the girls being teenage girls having fun and just, they are going to just raise a giant monster and apparently torrenting like you would torrent a car but you would torrent cherry blossoms [Jordan laughs] so...

Jordan  3:50
I would torrent a car but whatever.

David  3:52
Well, now you have 3D printers people actually probably started doing that.

Jordan  3:55
We'll have shitty 3D printed cars on the roads with Teslas. That's how it's gonna work [laughing] out. I thought this was a very, like, adorable chapter.

David  4:03
Mhm.

Jordan  4:03
And I really liked how the author was able to give us a lot of, uh, exposition about the back-about the background of the world and the background of the girls just through them having a conversation, these topics coming up naturally.

David  4:15
Yeah.

Jordan  4:16
Like, they talk about how, like, oh, the city was destroyed, but it's literally because they're just riding on the monster snout and they see the city and then they're like, oh, yeah, I heard that place was, like-like, a really thriving metropolis before we were born.

David  4:27
Yeah, they were like, yeah, those were like-this-like the stories my parents told me about.

Jordan  4:30
Ah, the stories of legend. You know, it was a really nice, uh, cleanser after fucking Bokke-san. The fact that--

David  4:37
Right?

Jordan  4:37
--this was just a very easy to follow series with not, like, too much going on but still some interesting things that--whoops, we had some technical difficulties right here and we're back.

David  4:48
It happens.

Jordan  4:49
Okay.

David  4:49
Now it's your turn. Um, why is it only the chibi episodes where we have weird issues?

Jordan  4:53
I'm glad it's the chibi episodes and not the main ones. Knock on wood.

David  4:56
Sorry, Jeff. We, uh, have to redo that entire episode. [laughs] On look back.

Jordan  5:01
[laughs] Exactly. Shit, man.

David  5:03
One or two hours free, right? [Jordan laughs]

Jordan  5:06
Oh God, what if it happens in the Masako X episode. Anyway.

David  5:09
It's when it will happen.

Jordan  5:10
[groans] Anyway, yeah. Uh, one-some interesting stuff. Uhh, they decided to make the monsters photosynthetic. Like, they don't eat. They just drink water out of a giant hamster water dispenser which-I--

David  5:24
That's what I was thinking. It was definitely a hamster reference.

Jordan  5:27
I thought that was really funny.

David  5:29
Mmhm.

Jordan  5:29
The art not super impressed by.

David  5:32
Yeah.

Jordan  5:33
I don't know how else to say this. But when the monster turns around, it looks like a vagina. It just does. I don't know why [laughing] that happens. I don't think it was the author's intent to do that. But it just really looks like a vagina. [laughs]

David  5:48
Oh, God. I mean, I thought you were gonna talk about how one of the girls-we're back to, like, 14 year olds having, like, D cup breasts.

Jordan  5:54
I did unfortunately notice that. Yeah, yeah.

David  5:57
That wouldn't be anime without that.

Jordan  5:58
Oh, yeah. It-it-it doesn't get super bad. There-there were chances where it could have gotten bad and the author avoided them.

David  6:06
Yep.

Jordan  6:06
It's just something that you additionally notice while reading the series.

David  6:11
Yeah, you're just like, uck, kind of cringe, bro.

Jordan  6:14
A little cringe. I'm a little worried about how this works out. But, like, it didn't get bad here. It was just kind of potentially shaky foreshadowing.

David  6:25
Yeah, it's not great.

Jordan  6:27
[groans] No... but...

David  6:29
 We'll-we'll see what happens.

Jordan  6:30
Yeah, exactly. But yeah. Uh, do you have anything else to say? You want to move on to the guesses?

David  6:34
I think also the dialogue just felt kind of flat. I see what they're trying to do. And, like, it, uh, feels a little nitpicky. Just because the series just didn't have much to, like, really say, but yeah, that was the one thing is it just kind of-this dialogue definitely felt a little stilted. And like, they kind of started talking about an idea and then they immediately resolved the conversation really quickly, just to get exposition out.

Jordan  6:50
Yeah.

David  6:51
And I get that's better than just giving flat exposition. But I could definitely tell that they were talking in a very inorganic way to get exposition.

Jordan  6:58
I would agree with that. I mean, for all I said earlier, I mean, yeah, i-it is very clear that they're-they're not just having like a normal conversation.

David  7:05
Yeah.

Jordan  7:05
It does feel a little contrived.

David  7:07
That's life, my friend.

Jordan  7:08
But yeah, so David, what do you think's gonna happen next in Monster Tamer Girls?

David  7:12
Going to stay wholesome the entire time, I think it's going to be kind of like a Girls' Last Ride, which if I don't like this series, it's probably gonna be a recommendation. But that was kind of where it was also, like, an apocalyptic backdrop. But everything about the series was pretty wholesome the entire time.

Jordan  7:27
I'm not familiar with that.

David  7:28
Oh, yes. It's a very interesting read. So it's about these two girls on, like, a, I-I don't know what the name of it. It's like a step between a motorcycle and like a proper car. And it's like in a post-apocalyptic city. It's like-I think it was, like, after a nuclear war or something, and they're just trying to survive, and they meet, like, a few survivors and, like, aliens and stuff. And I think there's an anime adaptation covering the first half of the series.

Jordan  7:45
That sounds good.

David  7:46
My next one is keeping with that too. And I think there will be another kaiju and I think the two kaijus will have a fight, but it's like a fun fight. Not, like, a real, like, legitimate, but just so they actually have a kaiju fight in the series.

Jordan  7:55
That would be cute.

David  7:56
And then, um, I think the series will definitely have a really dark background, but we'll never really see the true depths of it like they alluded to in the first chapter. And then how 'bout you?

Jordan  8:05
My three guesses are that Sora becomes a great tamer despite the school counting her out due to her grades, like that's kind of--

David  8:12
Mmhm.

Jordan  8:12
--what they're setting up. You know, they're like, oh, I wanted to be a really cool tamer, but I couldn't get good test scores. But I still really love monsters. And, in the end, I think that passion is meant to carry her. My next one is that Ion gets a very personal relationship with the monster--

David  8:12
Mmhm.

Jordan  8:15
Uh, like, more so than Sora does. And they kind of hint at this by Ion singing, which causes, uh, the monster to apparently emit cherryblossom waves.

David  8:38
Which is very strange, but good for them.

Jordan  8:40
It's pretty cute. It's pretty sweet.

David  8:42
Imagine if, like, that's just what happens and, like, she sings in the shower, and she just steps out and there's cherry blossoms everywhere. [laughs]

Jordan  8:48
That is a superpower. That's-but yeah, and then my last guess is that they fight the original monster who caused the destruction of the city?

David  8:55
That seems fair.

Jordan  8:57
Totally. Would you read another 10 chapters of it, David?

David  8:59
I mean, the entire thing is, like, 13 chapters. So yeah, I-I would [Jordan laughs] finish-I would finish this [laughs] series. Yes, no problem.

Jordan  9:04
Yeah, I would too, you know? Um, if it keeps this quality throughout, it's not going to blow me away. But you-you know, it could be like a nice little fun-fun breezy series, you know?

David  9:13
Yeah, easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Jordan  9:15
Mmm. Cover Girl. [David laughs] And what is your Power Word, David?

David  9:19
My Power Word. Thanks for asking.

Jordan  9:22
You're welcome.

David  9:22
Is tranquil because I thought that's the most kaiju sounding word that means peaceful.

Jordan  9:27
I agree. It's like your tranquilizing a giant beast.

David  9:30
Yeah. And then how about you?

Jordan  9:31
Mine is domestic. It is essentially about the domestication of, uh, giant monsters, which--

David  9:38
That's true.

Jordan  9:38
--I think is very interesting.

David  9:40
That's pretty fair. And then you ready to do some Q and A's?

Jordan  9:43
I'm down.

David  9:45
Down like a clown, Charlie Brown.

Jordan  9:46
You want me to start off with a question?

David  9:48
Sure, if you'd like.

Jordan  9:49
Yeah, so TrafalgarWolfwood asks a very difficult question of us, which is what is our favorite part of Chainsaw Man?

David  9:57
Oh my goodness.

Jordan  9:58
Oh...

David  9:59
What do you think, Jordan?

Jordan  10:01
God damn this is-this is really tough.

David  10:04
When we made the Patreon you knew we'd get some hard questions from our patrons.

Jordan  10:08
Yeah, well my favorite moment in all of Chainsaw Man, eh, I'm not gonna spoil the exact things around it but there's a hug that occurs in a dumpster. It basically made me cry when it happened.

David  10:21
Yep.

Jordan  10:21
And that was just, like, one of the most surprisingly powerful moments I've read in a manga.

David  10:28
Jordan's tearing up a little bit.

Jordan  10:29
I'm crying. I'm sobbing tears, like, down my cheeks. It's-it's disgusting. You're glad that you can't see a video of me right now.

David  10:36
It's actually tears of blood is-because it's fitting with Chainsaw Man.

Jordan  10:38
Well, I'm also a metal head. So that just happens. David, what about you? What's your favorite part of Chainsaw Man? You're not dodging this fucking question.

David  10:45
I still think that probably the funniest thing I've ever read a manga of my entire life was the scene where a certain character had, like, an elite squad to face--

Jordan  10:54
Mmhm.

David  10:54
--a [Jordan laughs] certain character and then the character one-hit kills all of them and she just looks at the reader essentially, and it says alright, this looks unwinnable and I just, literally,I don't remember the last time I laughed that hard out loud while reading a manga.

Jordan  11:08
Chainsaw Man rules. We haven't talked about Chainsaw Man that much the past few episodes. I kind of miss it.

David  11:14
And yes, if people are wondering, yes, we'll do like a patron special on the first anime episode. Yes, duh, of course. I, uh--

Jordan  11:19
Yeah.

David  11:19
--I need to message Dylan and be like, can we get exclusive rights to be on the Anime Out of Context Chainsaw Man anime episode? [David and Jordan laugh]

Jordan  11:25
We need to be. Yes, yes.

David  11:27
I was working with Dylan about doing a manga out of context. So, cuz we were talking about it or Shaun, maybe, about how it would be cool to recommend him because there are a few manga from what I know what Remington likes that I would recommend. Like, I know, Jordan, if you had to suggest a manga for Remington what would you pick?

Jordan  11:42
Phantom Seer. I'm not-I just really want to see them go do an episode on Phantom Seer. I-I want to-I want to [David laughs] hear Remington's thoughts on it and I want them to start a little bit of a flame war the way that we accidentally did a little bit--

David  11:54
Oh god.

Jordan  11:54
--you know? [laughs]

David  11:55
See I, uh, I was gonna give him a series I thought he would actually like. Which I think I said maybe in an episode. I really think he would enjoy reading Dungeon Meshi.

Jordan  12:02
Hmm.

David  12:03
Cuz that's just a really fun series or maybe Witch Hat Atelier.

Jordan  12:05
Okay, I don't know any other [indecipherable]

David  12:07
Which actually that's getting an anime so actually, I guess that's a wash.

Jordan  12:10
Mmmm.

David  12:11
That's something I would pick that doesn't have any anime adaption.

Jordan  12:14
Maybe he would like Sand Land?

David  12:16
Yep. It's short, too.

Jordan  12:17
Yeah.

David  12:18
Next up, though we have from the Laughing Fool. Do you think Neru: Way of the Martial Artist will get cancelled prematurely? What do you think, Jordan?

Jordan  12:25
Uh, so I read a little bit of Neru. Like, uh, [David laughs] when the first few-what was that joke?

David  12:31
You just got pranked. Because that series just got canceled, like, 20 [Jordan groans] minutes before you recorded.

Jordan  12:37
Really?

David  12:38
Oh, [Jordan laughs] yeah. Yeah, you just got fucking pranked, bro.

Jordan  12:42
Oh, man, I got... [David makes trumpet noises] You know, it's funny. So I'm pretty sure Neru: The Way of the Martial Artist was another series that was, uh, held up by the same discord group that was initially Time Paradox Ghostwriter--

David  12:58
Yeah.

Jordan  12:58
--and then [laughs] they became Our Blood Oath. And then they became Neru: Way of the Martial Artist.

David  13:03
Yup.

Jordan  13:03
So, uh, whatever series they pick next time to dedicate [laughs] discord to, uh, I'm-probably not going to last too long, but will probably be better than a lot of the other canceled series. So hey... [laughs]

David  13:16
I guess it's fine that it lost the poll because we will, I'm sure, cover that series in the near future.

Jordan  13:20
Oh, yes.

David  13:21
So you stay tuned on that one, dear listener. XOXO I love you all.

Jordan  13:25
Yeah, I th-I think we're gonna cover another series that got cancelled prematurely and deeply upsets me, but we'll talk about that later.

David  13:31
Don't spoil it for the kiddos.

Jordan  13:33
We're not going to spoil it.

David  13:35
Yeah, I'm just kidding. I-I too, am very, very upset about this.

Jordan  13:38
The thicc women. It was so good.

David  13:40
I know.

Jordan  13:40
Anyway, uh, David, have you brought any more face cookies in for upper management? That's a question from OzyRat.

David  13:46
No. And OzyRat, thank you for, I think, that's your first question. And thank you for joining us for movie night. And for posting all [laughing] those wonderful pictures in the adorable animals channel. So no, I, uh, have not done it since it's actually quite expensive to do that. And also because of COVID I haven't had a manager since that I've worked with in person. So, we'll see. I had a very unique relationship with Big Tony. As, uh, anyone wondering, you can listen to Anime Out of Context where [laughs] for our warm-up audio, we were doing a survey and then I just went into the Big Tony cookie story because of who I am as a person [Jordan laughs] and they said alright, that's our warm-up. Let's get into the recording and Dylan was like, let's just turn that into an episode. So they posted--

Jordan  14:25
Yeah.

David  14:25
--literally just me in what was at the time a warm-up only Patreon audio as a-a main episode, so. You can listen to [Jordan laughs] that, dear listener. If you go look up Anime Out of Context: Big Tony.

That's a big advertisement for us, you know. Like--

Yeah.

Jordan  14:40
--uh, good-good on you, David, for just telling a weird ass story about the time you gave your boss cookies that made him look like white Obama.

David  14:46
Yeah, I actually looked, and, actually, if you look, I think we're, like, one of the few episodes that's broken five digits, listenership, like--

Jordan  14:53
Fuck yeah.

David  14:53
--we're like-we're like, two or 3000 above the surrounding episodes. So I guess we had a popular episode.

Jordan  14:57
Suck it.

David  14:59
Yeah. [Jordan laughs] I'm excited to have Dylan on the show in January.

Jordan  15:02
Oh, that's gonna be a lot of fun. Yeah, Dylan's great.

David  15:04
Yeah, Dylan's a fuckin'-fuckin' legend. Yeah, I, actually, I got a package. So I joined their Patreon and I jo-and I got a package from Salt Lake City and I was like, I-did they send me something for joining their Patreon cuz that's where they're based out and it was-it was dental molds, so I don't think it was from them.

Jordan  15:16
[laughs] I think, uh, Dylan is just worried about your teeth.

David  15:20
Thanks, Dylan. You really care.

Jordan  15:21
Yeah, thank you, Dylan.

David  15:22
Oh, I was actually-I sent-so I made like a really, like, compl-not complex, but, like, a full fleshed out Q&A spreadsheet where now I have information like, how many questions they've asked, how many have been answered, the ratio of asked to answer, what episode had the latest answer. [laughs] And so, just-if they've-been-had a question answered recently, which actually flagged to me that, umm, and we're doing two questions from jyanet, because they've asked us 12 questions, and we've answered zero of them. So whoops, I already apologized. So that was our [laughs] bad for [Jordan laughs] completely missing that we have never answered any of your 12 questions.

Jordan  15:56
So yeah, uh, here's a question from jyanet. You're stuck on a desert island and have three flopped manga with you. What manga would you bring? And I do have to ask, now, when they say flopped manga are we seeing that as just a series we would cover on here or a series that we consider to be a flop?

David  16:12
I would say they are considering bringing three series that we have given the flop status to on the show.

Jordan  16:17
Yeah, because otherwise that's too easy, right?

David  16:19
Yeah.

Jordan  16:19
Like, it's just, like, the top three, like, you know, like, well duh, I mean Moriking and blah blah blah. Yeah. [sighs] Three flopped manga with you. David, what do you-what are you thinking?

David  16:29
That's a good question. I would bring Spirit Busters because that was pretty good. But I still eh...

Jordan  16:36
Well, we didn't-no, that wasn't uh-we didn't see that as a flop.

David  16:39
No, I gave it a flop. I said it was a flop. You can listen back, bud.

Jordan  16:42
Ahh, I see. Mmmm.

David  16:43
That was the best series I ever said I was a fl-it was a flop. [Jordan laughs] So that's the top one, the next series... [sighs] these are hard, man, thinking of, like--

Jordan  16:43
Right?

David  16:44
--canceled series I would want to look at again. Maybe Phantom Seer? Because at least you can appreciate the art.

Jordan  16:56
Oh.

David  16:57
And then, finally, Build King. I want-I'm nearing the end now. Just help push it over the edge.

Jordan  17:02
When-when you're like, man, I-I don't know if I wanna... I-I think I want to keep on living. I don't want to, like, drown myself. And then you just read Build King, you're like oh, well actually you know what? It's okay.

David  17:12
Yeah.

Jordan  17:12
I can leave this world behind.

David  17:13
Or you read it and it motivates you to get back to society so you can beat him in the face for being a, uh, pedophile that makes terrible manga.

Jordan  17:19
It motivates you to take off your pants and just go swimming in the fucking ocean.

David  17:23
Yeah. [laughs] What about you?

Jordan  17:25
My three would probably be Zipman!!

David  17:28
Mmhm.

Jordan  17:29
That's an easy one because--

David  17:31
Mmhm.

Jordan  17:31
--it wasn't bad. [mumbles] Uh, and then I think, uh, Stealth Symphony because damn that fucking ending.

David  17:37
[laughs] That funding ending that's true. That was a fucking-that was something all right.

Jordan  17:42
Oh, man. And then, as for the last one I get-I think I'm going to go Our Blood Oath because I did actually like--

David  17:49
Mmhm.

Jordan  17:50
--that series a little bit.

David  17:51
That's not bad. I-I can respect this. I can respect that.

Jordan  17:54
And I guess we're about-we're really gonna put-we're really going to answer, uh, a question that David raised with two of his selections which is, is Build King better than Phantom Seer?

No.

No. [laughs] It's not. Like-like I hate-I hate them both. But no, Build King is just like an abomination. Like the-like Phantom Seer has some moments of potential, Build King's got fucking nothing.

David  18:20
Yeah, Phantom Seer was aggressively mediocre.

Jordan  18:22
Yeah.

David  18:22
It was a five out of 10 which makes it boring to read. Like, that is again, we have said that we've liked Beast Children more than some of these other series because it was so bad, it was good.

Jordan  18:32
There is this idea that it is a genuinely worse piece of art if you are so mediocre that you're just fucking forgettable.

David  18:39
Yeah.

Jordan  18:40
The extremely good or extremely bad. Don't be just fucking middle of the road.

David  18:45
But you got to make people feel something.

Jordan  18:46
Make them feel something, David. Reach out into the audience and just make them feel something--

David  18:46
Please don't touch the audience members, thank you.

Jordan  18:53
No, I'm... uh, whatever, anyway, but Phantom Seer made me just feel fucking nothing.

David  18:57
Yeah, I mean, I feel like that every day. But...

Jordan  18:59
Yeah, but for different reasons.

David  19:01
[laughs] Yeah. I like how there's like--

Jordan  19:02
[indecipherable]

David  19:02
Go to the next thing because you got to edit this shit. [David and Jordan laugh] The next one is from Koltreg who I had noticed that, actually, we hadn't answered one of those questions.

Jordan  19:09
Have we really never answered a Koltreg question. I feel like we've answered a few.

David  19:12
We have it's just been a while-it's-we haven't answered in about six episodes. Yes. So next question comes from Luke, aka Koltreg, who is the master of the Shonen Flop Book Club, where we meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 8pm. We either cover a superhero or not superhero. If you're listening to this, it's too late for the November one, but not too late for the next one, but unfortunately, we don't know. But, uh, we were going to read Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen, super great series by Jack Kirby where he creates a lot of the iconic elements about things like Darkseid.

Jordan  19:42
Oh, yeah. Jack Kirby ever hear of him? He's a little known artist.

David  19:45
Yeah. [Jordan laughs]

Jordan  19:46
Who has the same birthday as me. Fuck yeah!

David  19:49
Maybe you're his reincarnation except he died after you were born.

Jordan  19:52
I would love to be. [David laughs]

David  19:54
He asked, what anime or manga would be improved if the character's had access to air conditioning?

Jordan  19:59
Well, I said Sandland earlier and now it's hard for me to think [laughs] of a different series than Sandland. Because it's just, like, right there.

David  20:07
Fire Punch probably would also...

Jordan  20:09
I was about to say [laughs] Fire Punch. [both laugh] Oh, man, yeah. I feel like you would solve a lot of conflict and a lot of series, uh, if they just had air conditioning. Just maybe not-not ones that I can think of off the top of my head.

David  20:24
Yeah, dude, global warming, like, isn't even a thing. You just turn your air conditioning on, you're cold again. [laughs] Fucking idiot.

Jordan  20:30
Yeah, dummy. Oh your-your house is getting, uh,-is getting reclaimed by the tides just move somewhere else, dumbass.

David  20:38
That was still probably one of the dumbest things Ben Shapiro ever said was, well, if global warming is, like, bringing the sea level just sell your house and move.

It's tough to say that's the dumbest thing he said just because Ben Shapiro says a lot of fucking, uh-a lot of competition there.

How do you feel on the was he bullied too much or not enough spectrum of Ben Sha-baby?

Jordan  20:56
Not enough.

David  20:56
Yeah, I agree. I think he should have been bullied during col-high school.

Jordan  20:59
Yeah, yeah.

David  20:59
In college. Yeah, in college.

Jordan  21:01
You know, I think he should continue to get bullied, you know? I don't--

David  21:04
Yeah.

Jordan  21:04
If you see Ben Shapiro then you should bully him a little.

David  21:07
I like how someone made a fake tweet where it's like, haha, you guys all joke that the kids aren't even mine. I'll have you know I've had them all tested, so I know they're all my children. [Jordan laughs]

Jordan  21:16
Anyway. Uh, yeah. Let's get into the fucking shoutouts, baby.

David  21:22
Jordan, thank you so much for editing this chibi episode. I also wanna--

Jordan  21:25
David, you are welcome. [David laughs]

David  21:29
I just want to get thanks to Tucker for assistance with pronounciation, translation, other miscellaneous research. Be sure to join the Shonen Flop discord where we ha-come hang out with us, talk about anime, games, or whatever else is on your mind. We have a book club and do regular movie nights. We just saw Tucker and Dale vs Evil which, ton of fun, had, like, 10 people. Next month we're gonna be doing City Hunter and then for December, I was thinking Dredd 3D, which, uh--

Jordan  21:49
Oohhhh.

David  21:49
--very good Christmas movie. You can find a link to that in the show notes. And, uh, if you've been enjoying the podcast and want to help us keep going, consider subscribing to our Patreon. We have a ton of awesome perks ranging from exclusive mini episodes, deleted scenes, and you can even help us pick what series we're going to cover next. We're going to  be recording a really awesome special on why you should check out the series Dandadan in November and then-though we'll see what we do in December but we definitely got some fun ideas. You can find that at patreon.com/shonenflop. I also want to give a shout out to some of our terrific patrons, first of all, PterodactylsGhost, for being a Chainsaw Man.

David, do you want to say that again? Let's say that again. I think you call them PerodactylGhost?

Pterodactyl? Yeah.

Jordan  22:24
Yeah.

David  22:25
All right. I want to give a shout out to PterodactylGhost for being a Chainsaw Man level patron. Gabe, Mark, Marty and TWolfwood for being King of the Forest.

Jordan  22:32
I noticed you said Perodactyl last week and then he said Pterodactyl today when we recorded earlier. [laughs] And then I was like, [indecipherable].

David  22:38
I really just-I just really changed it to mess with you.

Jordan  22:41
I'm glad to hear that. I appreciate that. And by the way, David, thank you so much for everything that you do for the show.

David  22:46
Oh, yeah, I fuckin' do-fucking everything for this show.

Jordan  22:49
It's true. Yeah.

David  22:50
I respect you, King.

Jordan  22:51
Thank you. Thank you.

David  22:52
And then, though, if you're not ready for a regular commitment, consider buying some merch. We have a ton of awesome designs, including the much requested Gomez Moon shirt and the Mashle Punching Harry Potter shirt, along with cover art for all of our other episodes that we've put up lately. And, no worries though, if you can't help the show out financially, if you could like, rate, review, or share our show, it really helps us build our audience. Even telling one friend to check us out means a ton to us. You can find us on Twitter @shonenflopcast and our website, shonenflop.com. We're also on Spotify, iTunes, YouTube or wherever else you get your podcasts.

Jordan  23:20
And with that, David!

David  23:22
Wait.

Jordan  23:22
Say it!

David  23:22
I als-I also want to say I--

Jordan  23:24
Oh, nevermind. Sorry.

David  23:24
--am aware of that podcast that stole our ad copy and we will be coming for you. [Jordan laughs]

Jordan  23:30
Yeah, I-I might even be coming--

David  23:31
Yeah.

Jordan  23:31
--for you on the episode in which you

David  23:32
Yeah.

Jordan  23:32
--obviously--

David  23:32
I--

Jordan  23:32
steal our ad copy. [laughs]

David  23:35
I'll say podcaster's name but I'm not gonna say just because I'm not going to give the publicity. Not the smartest idea to steal our ad copy on the episode Jordan was on.

Jordan  23:42
Yeah, I mea-it's almost like you expected me to notice or some shit. That-horrible way of hiding it.

David  23:48
So, sorry, Jordan, as you were saying?

Jordan  23:50
David, say it!

David  23:52
Keep on flopping, floppers.

Jordan  23:53
Cool. Bye!

David  23:54
Bye.
