[00:00:41] short response, right? Oh, because the series we're covering today is only eight chapters

[00:00:49] and what series is that. It's the shortest not many series to ever run and show in jump.

[00:00:54] Oh it doesn't feel short. It really fucking did not. Did not! What is the series David? Recover

[00:01:02] in Chagcha. I don't know why I keep inserting an end into the name of this series and honestly

[00:01:06] I couldn't give a fuck because this was terrible spoiler alert. I think it's Chagcha. I don't

[00:01:11] fucking know. Chagcha. I'm gonna Chagcha MaxiP for telling us to read this. Oh my Chagcha.

[00:01:17] This is a fun one to read. Oh god yeah, fun. Yeah, so tell us about it Jordan. So this

[00:01:21] is written by Soay Yoshio who I believe also did bo bo bo bo bo bo? Yes, and he made this

[00:01:28] after that. Jesus. Ah, it's sad. But this series ran September 13th, 2008 in November

[00:01:36] 1st, 2008. Not even like three months. Not even two months. Yeah, eight fucking chapters.

[00:01:44] Yeah, eight fucking chapters. One volume. Oh my God. Fucking. Ah, it's getting to the plot

[00:01:50] summary. Yeah, let's get to that fucking plot summary. So part of this plot summary,

[00:01:55] the first things I wrote were dude, I don't know and okay, I'll try. Yes, I was really

[00:02:01] proud of you. So that should give you an example of me trying to summarize a little actually

[00:02:06] happens in this fucking chapter. Yeah, it's like 50 pages long. Good at Tokyo is a big city

[00:02:12] filled with Yankees, which is a Japanese term for a kind of delinquent. There's apparently

[00:02:17] a billion different kinds of delinquents in Japan. Like these are simply one of them of

[00:02:21] the Yankees. The dragon ninjas of gorilla high are the worst and that is gorilla like

[00:02:26] the Shagavera gorilla, you know, like yeah, not spelled like the animal. It was a little surprising.

[00:02:32] Not the animal. No, they're causing mass destruction on like a wide level. They fuck

[00:02:37] around on a train until they run into a huge dude with a giant hoop shield here to see his

[00:02:42] parents after two years. His name is Chagatya. Chagatya fucks some more shit up until he runs

[00:02:47] into Masoto. He's underclassmen popcorn David. Chagatya shows Masoto, how gorilla high forces

[00:02:54] weak high schoolers to his turnily float down a river of watermelons. I feel like this

[00:02:58] is something from like some Greek Odyssey or from some Greek epic. Like just what the

[00:03:02] fuck this is a reference to? It's like, is this like obscure Japanese symbolism I've never heard

[00:03:08] of before? I would be curious when watermelons were introduced in Japan. I don't know because

[00:03:14] they're definitely non-ditchinous. It can't be right. Got it and they have to stop it. They

[00:03:18] go to gorilla high to find out it has a giant sentient head on it built using parts from

[00:03:23] NASA in Chagatya defeats it. The whole town celebrated the birthday of the new president

[00:03:27] of Nare Saiyunkan High School. Kabu, Kintamaru. Kabu is punishing it to liquids by butchering

[00:03:33] them and making ramen out of them. I seriously think that's all that happens. Yeah. Though

[00:03:37] there was a really cool flashback about a bird that looked really bad ass and then he

[00:03:41] was the best character in this manga. There was a bad ass pigeon with like scars on his

[00:03:47] eyes. Looks really cool. It's punished pigeon. Pun- yet literally punished pigeon. So what

[00:03:52] are your first impressions? Oh God. Oh my God. What the fuck is even happening? This

[00:03:58] is fucking insane. This is so hard to follow. It's so fucking busy. It's so confusing. Like,

[00:04:05] like I went to read a chapter of Boba Bow after this just to compare and oh my God. Boba

[00:04:10] Bow is so much more focused than this. Yeah. You don't think you would ever say the phrase

[00:04:16] Boba Bow is more focused than this but it is so much more. I mean this is like in our

[00:04:20] buildkig where he just fucking lost his touch after making his big series. Boba Bow

[00:04:25] will take actually take its time finishing out a joke so that you are able to follow and

[00:04:31] get the joke. This series does not. This is like we're gonna throw three jokes into as

[00:04:37] many panels. None of them are expanded upon and so you don't get them. It's a mess. It

[00:04:43] honestly was hard to just look at it because the art is so dense. It's so fucking busy.

[00:04:50] I like this. It's just it's so much more effort to have drawn it like this. I was just

[00:04:54] gonna say this is not a situation where he took the easy route. He clearly put a ton of

[00:05:00] hours into drawing all of these panels. There's so much that's going on. Like you can tell

[00:05:06] he wasn't phoning it in because by the fact is he canceled it before he actually got

[00:05:10] a feedback. He just was eight chapters and said this isn't it? He was proud of this work.

[00:05:14] Oh, so he can't even he wasn't proud of this work. No, no, I mean like he cared about

[00:05:20] the quality of the series because otherwise he wouldn't have told Shun and Jump we need

[00:05:23] to stop doing this. He's proud of his own work. Like I respect that. I always respect

[00:05:29] it when a creator is just like, I'm sorry. This is not my best shit. Yeah. I can't have

[00:05:35] this keep going. This is I can do better. Let me get rid of this. Sorry. I respect that.

[00:05:40] You know, yeah. I I respect that a lot too. It's just a shame it was necessary because

[00:05:44] we've seen our cases like tricks dedicated to witches where he called it quits when he didn't

[00:05:48] need to. Yeah. Also David, I would like to say one of your notes is is this data is and

[00:05:53] David not everything that looks bad is dad eyes that is not what dad is amiss. I know I just

[00:06:00] wanted to say that. Okay. I mean, this is like what maximalist? Yeah. I've heard the

[00:06:07] term horror vacuay where you're just making things up. It's a term for when you're just

[00:06:13] terrified of having any blank space at all. Okay, Mr. Art School. Yeah. That's a real

[00:06:18] term. Yeah. It's just busy as fuck. Yeah. That's the main word it's busy and pluddered.

[00:06:24] Also the plot makes it zero sense. I honestly don't know what's going on. It kind of feels

[00:06:27] like he meshed it mashed together multiple chapters because there's like not really

[00:06:31] a flow to anything that happens in this first chapter. That's what I'm saying. Go back

[00:06:34] read the first chapter of Bobo as ridiculous as it is. You can follow it pretty fucking

[00:06:39] easily like there's one plot here. It's like there's yeah, there's like 50 plots and only

[00:06:45] one of them kind of matters. There's so little actual substance to this manga. Also David,

[00:06:51] you pointed this out too, but like they're just these brief moments where it's like there's

[00:06:56] almost funny jokes in here. Yeah. There are like small kind of moments where it's funny. Like

[00:07:01] honestly, my favorite moment in the whole chapter is where they're talking about how NASA built

[00:07:05] this thing with parts and then Masotto's just like, Parsi, NASA. I'll never forgive the NASA

[00:07:11] scientists. I'll never forgive NASA. Like that was actually pretty funny, I guess. We're like

[00:07:16] how he was like talking to his like leg muscles to run faster. And that's like a joke that also

[00:07:21] was in Marshall and Marshall. That's an example of Marshall did that joke way fun here. But like

[00:07:24] that was the root of a joke that I know could have been funny. That's what's kind of sad about

[00:07:29] this. Like you see glimmers where it's like, this is a guy who is skilled. Yeah. This is a guy

[00:07:34] who can make this. But instead we get this chaos. There are moments where I felt like this is the

[00:07:39] soccer ret恶suteiwa and we have at home, you know? Yeah. Where it's just that chaos. But like

[00:07:45] that had like some level of substance to it. What a fucking ending that long ago had. Oh man same

[00:07:50] thing for the guy who's just like, I'm canceling this the same working this ain't working. I'm sorry.

[00:07:56] My bad. Yeah, but this is going to make soccer out to tie a head and look like time paradox ghost

[00:08:00] writer. Yeah. Oh god. So Jordan, I guess we don't have to say what you read in our 10 chapters

[00:08:04] because there are not another 10 chapters. Would you read the rest of this series, David?

[00:08:09] Fuck no. No, me neither. The series is bad. God. I'm so glad it's short though. Oh yeah.

[00:08:15] There was ever a time for it to only be eight chapters. Yeah. Why is that David? Because the offer

[00:08:20] gave up because it was terrible. Oh, I was just going to say why are you reading a short manga this

[00:08:25] time? Oh yeah. We're reading a short one because I'm going to New Zealand in less than a week so we

[00:08:29] are recording our chibi in our main the same weekend. Woo. And why are you going to New Zealand,

[00:08:35] David? Because I got married. That's right. It's David's honeymoon. He's going to middle earth.

[00:08:40] Yep. And I've been watching Lord of the Rings where Rachel may be the last person born before the

[00:08:44] movies to have zero idea of anything that occurs in Lord of the Rings. She did not know what it

[00:08:49] orc was. None of the lines. My friend was in disbelief. It was like, you shall not pass. You have my

[00:08:53] axe. Second breakfast. None of it. She had zero fucking idea that any of those lines had any cultural

[00:08:58] significance. Oh my god. It's very, very impressive. That's amazing. That's amazing. Lichidimitly fought.

[00:09:04] She genuinely did not know that Gandalf was going to come back as Gandalf the White.

[00:09:09] Like that is the level of her not knowing anything about this. Wow. Right? Wow. That's kind

[00:09:14] of amazing. That's kind of great. I'm happy for her. And that's in there was like a psychic signal

[00:09:19] put in Lord of the Rings and she was actually the last person that could defeat the alien force that

[00:09:23] was using it. And I've just ruined him. He's last chance to survive. Oh god. I kind of wish I could

[00:09:28] forget Lord of the Rings just so I could watch it again. I was yeah, I'm watching the extended

[00:09:32] edition and it is kind of interesting watcher where it's like I don't think that was in the movie

[00:09:36] when I watched it. So that's a fun part of watching the extended editions. I think I've only

[00:09:40] seen the extended editions really? Yeah. You never saw them theaters. It took me years and years

[00:09:45] to actually watch this series. But even still I picked up on a lot of it through Asmosis. Yeah,

[00:09:50] that's I don't I truly do not understand how she never she didn't know what an orc was. Wow.

[00:09:55] Anyway, Jordan, what do you think will happen next? I think Chagatja is his high school president.

[00:10:01] Mm-hmm. I think there will be one female character. I think I can say there will be one funny joke.

[00:10:07] There I think there'll be a couple mile, mildly funny ones but it doesn't justify the length

[00:10:12] of the series. I think we will see at least one person get eaten. Wow. How about you? Those are some

[00:10:19] guesses. Minor, I think the series will not even be able to make fun of how fast they are a cancel.

[00:10:24] Mm-hmm. I think that Masoto will be completely useless. Definitely. And I think the big bad won't

[00:10:29] be the school president but the man he actually works for. And as a bonus guess, I think if this

[00:10:33] had gone on long enough, I think Obama would have shown up. So close, dude. So close. Talk about the chaos,

[00:10:39] test the calls. God. Wow, literally like what? Like one or two days later after it got canceled,

[00:10:47] Obama was elected. Yeah, exactly. But yeah, what's your power word, David? This series is just it

[00:10:54] apes his prior material. It's just ape shit. Just fucking a bunch of monkey business, you know?

[00:10:59] Yeah. How about you, Jordan? So it's funny you mentioned Obama because mine is chaos.

[00:11:04] The chaos test. It's roughly perked up when I said chaos testicles. I don't know why. But seriously,

[00:11:10] this the series is just pure chaos. Like you're just reading it and you're just like what the

[00:11:14] fuck is happening, right? Like that plot summary does not explain how impossible it is to follow.

[00:11:22] There was like a kaneekumon reference in the first couple of pages too. Like where the sayings are

[00:11:27] flying like F 35s and then an alien cat flew on to their on to their windshield and were like,

[00:11:35] man, this is just like the akuma chaujin. That all happens, right? That is stuff that happened

[00:11:40] in this manga chapter. What a life we live in. Yeah. Alright, I'm done talking about the series.
