[00:03:56] Katana Man invites Denji to the brothel that he owns to Azza's horror.

[00:04:02] She asked how Denji could possibly be thinking about sex right now.

[00:04:05] Denji, however, starts mulling it over in his head.

[00:04:08] You know, he hasn't masturbated in a little while.

[00:04:11] You know, maybe he's like stressed because he hasn't jerked off in a little bit.

[00:04:15] You know, got like it's got that build up, David, you know?

[00:04:19] Yeah, guys know what I mean, right?

[00:04:22] You're really edging this joke on.

[00:04:24] Maybe this will help him more than food.

[00:04:26] Yeah, maybe.

[00:04:27] I love how he keeps being like, well, you know, like scientifically,

[00:04:30] this might be affecting me, you know, this like biologically, like physically.

[00:04:34] And Azza is, of course, disgusted by this popcorn, David.

[00:04:39] When they get to the brothel, though, it's burned down and Denji collapses

[00:04:43] in what is potentially one of the funniest things I've ever seen in Chainsaw Man.

[00:04:46] He breaks down about how his priorities are fucked up,

[00:04:48] and he's always thinking about his dick.

[00:04:50] Even though his pets are dead and his daughter is missing,

[00:04:53] Yaru takes over Azza and tells him that if his dick is his problem,

[00:04:56] she'll cut it off for him.

[00:04:57] Oh man, a lot of people would pay good money for that service.

[00:05:00] Yeah.

[00:05:00] So David, it's like it's the scene of Denji breaking down and talking about his dick.

[00:05:05] It's interesting because on one hand, yeah, it's very funny.

[00:05:07] He's like my dick.

[00:05:08] But on the other hand, it's legitimately sad.

[00:05:10] Like I think it's interesting because Chainsaw Man chapter

[00:05:13] because Chainsaw Man Part One, a lot of that is Dennis realizing,

[00:05:17] man, you know what?

[00:05:18] I can have the life I want.

[00:05:21] I can have sex.

[00:05:22] I like I can listen to my desires, these desires that I have stamped down

[00:05:27] and just like kind of ignored because I was so busy just trying to survive.

[00:05:32] And now Dennis is realizing, wait, I've been letting these desires completely control me.

[00:05:37] And like this was like a real realization moment for him, I think.

[00:05:42] I guess I get really into why this week's chapter is 10 out of 10.

[00:05:44] One of the things is Chainsaw Man has often been about following

[00:05:48] a Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

[00:05:49] And it's really interesting to see Denji so blatantly call it out,

[00:05:52] where that's the whole point of Chainsaw Man is what does Denji do after he's met,

[00:05:56] you know, these basic goals of food, shelter, you know, and going through

[00:06:00] and realizing his sexual, his self actualization, realizing his desire for sex,

[00:06:04] realizing his need for friendship and value in society.

[00:06:07] And it really shows that now that a lot of his higher level needs have been destroyed.

[00:06:11] He really is reverting to just saying, I just want to eat.

[00:06:13] I just want to sleep.

[00:06:14] I just want to have sex.

[00:06:15] So it's just so interesting to see such a pinpoint deconstruction

[00:06:18] of what is kind of the largest overarching theme of Chainsaw Man.

[00:06:21] Yeah, but it's also like we have seen many times throughout the series,

[00:06:27] and especially in part two, Denji has been like horribly mistreated and used

[00:06:33] due to his just desire for sex.

[00:06:37] I guess not especially part two.

[00:06:39] I mean, it was all over part one.

[00:06:40] I mean, that's what Makima did.

[00:06:42] That was her whole thing.

[00:06:43] But like he's kind of realizing like this is kind of a growing up moment.

[00:06:49] You know, he's realizing that like, you know, there is more to life than this.

[00:06:54] And, you know, being desperate for this stuff isn't actually going to help me out.

[00:07:00] You know?

[00:07:00] Yeah.

[00:07:00] I also really like the moment where he's like trying to be like, no, you know, this is normal.

[00:07:06] You know, this is just how guys are right.

[00:07:08] And then he turns to like the two guys from the Chainsaw Man church.

[00:07:11] And they're just like, uh, like they just don't respond.

[00:07:14] Like, it's kind of like there's them saying like, it's kind of implied.

[00:07:17] They're like, no.

[00:07:20] Yeah, I just didn't really.

[00:07:22] Instead of you know how there's cream cash rolls everything around me.

[00:07:25] He got dream.

[00:07:26] You know where Dick ruins everything around me.

[00:07:29] Dick ruins everything around me.

[00:08:17] We've got to learn to talk to his penis, understand his penis.

[00:08:21] Be one that reminds me is Yoru cutting off Denji's dick.

[00:09:01] I actually liked the art overall in this chapter.

[00:09:04] You know, I felt like it was done well.

[00:09:07] I think that Denji's expressions are great when he's on the train and just kind of mulling

[00:09:13] it around in his head and just kind of really thinking.

[00:09:15] And he's like kind of arguing with himself and kind of justifying himself and stuff like

[00:09:20] that.

[00:09:21] I really liked that.

[00:09:22] I thought that was really good.

[00:09:23] I thought that was really well done.

[00:09:25] Um, I mean, like, I do kind of see what you're talking about.

[00:09:29] But yeah, no, I thought it was all right.

[00:09:31] I mean, we've always disagreed on the quality of Chainsaw Man's art where I've always

[00:09:34] fought.

[00:09:34] It's got I don't know.

[00:09:36] I just feel like this wasn't the best work he's done.

[00:09:37] And I feel like it is a consistent theme where Chainsaw Man part two's art has been kind

[00:09:41] of hit or miss.

[00:09:42] Yeah, Chainsaw Man part two's art has not been as like as amazing as Chainsaw Man part

[00:09:50] one's art.

[00:09:50] I think part one had some incredible art and Chainsaw Man part two has also had some really

[00:09:56] good art.

[00:09:57] It's just like it hasn't been as consistent.
